Vanaduke has his own resistances, different from any other monster in the game. Judging purely by resistances, he doesn't belong to any monster family. That's why, before the tooltip was introduced, we classified him as "his own family". But now Three Rings has officially declared, in the tooltip, that Vanaduke is a fiend. So he's a fiend, with different resistances from all other fiends. We just have to accept it.

By the way, Vanadule's tooltip doesn't show a family anymore. It's been a very long time since it did.

When you fight him, the "tooltip" says that he's a fiend. That's why the wiki says that he's a fiend.
