Gonna go ahead and second Reto-Da-Liz. Luthienny plays an intimidating guardian as well, along with Seithennin. As far as utility goes though, that one's a tossup between Tom-Kane and Dutch-Oven - Tom simply because he can do pretty much anything as a guardian and still be effective, and Dutch-Oven because I haven't seen a guardian gunner do nearly as well as he does.
Also I'm probably too rusty to be considered a viable guard anymore. I still have a knack for it, but RLD doesn't see as many bombers so my set kind of pales now as a standalone guardian set.

Thanks for mentioning me.
Unfortunately there's very few guards left, and the ones that play guard are often new players trying out all classes just to get a feel of what they are.
I'd say Dutch is a pretty unique guardian, possibly the only guardian-gunner I've seen. And he's pretty damn good at what he does.
Rete used to be a very nice guardian, but now he's more of an annoying gunner than anything else ;) A very annoying gunner!
My former guildmates Huntr and Fayeth deserve a mention as guardian bombers. Not many good bombers left...
Same goes for Luthienny, who is a pretty fearsome guard ^_^
I'd also like to second Red, who first of all is a great guy, and second of all is a great guardian, who focuses on winning games rather than damage wh... hunting.

Contri -> The best in everything
Thengel -> He was the best guardian in the old times for me, he left the game.
End-Credits -> Very good with Skolver FF,GF and Storm combo, he left the game too.
Luthi -> Very good with GF and very annoying in GvG.
Dutch -> Very annoying with his alchemer/pola/valiance spam.

Not a single mention of Contri? I am quite disappointed.
I have lost my faith in this community, because hands down, he is the greatest guardian there is and will always be, no one will be able to surpass him.

Redhawkone, he can easily hold points for extended periods on his own with 3 people attacking him. And Dutch Oven as well.

you know, since this thread is back for some reason
i'm gonna go ahead and throw the name "very-cherry" into the hat
there's not many guards who can keep up with a striker dancing around them, let alone three but i've seen them do it several times, and at one point was on the receiving end of it
might not seem like much, but considering they usually wear the fallen armor set, they're doing all of it with no perceivable damage bonuses, or if they are using the damage trinkets, then they're doing it without pentas and either of those are fairly respectable feats considering

i suppose i didn't explain myself enough. i've played him/her in T2 and T3. it's the same everywhere you go. if you walk near him/her and then dash away, you can get like 5 hits in easy, because he/she will indefinitely do a double gf swing. asi and at mean nothing if used by the wrong person tbh. i was just saying that he/she has that stuff and that seems to be the only logical reason their name would be mentioned here.
