I'm surprised I haven't seen this.
How do Slime monsters reproduce? Because of all the times I've been in the Jelly Palace, I'd hate to have been poked by "those spikes".

They grow out from those piles of gloop in RJP.
They grow differently...
Depending on the climate, slimes and jellies will grow differently, hence oilers, ice cubes… etc.
Yes, but how do they get their ball-core-brain-things?
They reproduce asexually. And as far as we know, Slimes are sexless. The Ice Queen felt like a Queen when it gave itself that title, not because it is female.
It's like jellyfish rules. The macho Slimes throw their pollen into the air and the lady Slimes take it and makes Slime eggs. The eggs turn into Polyps, and then babby Slimes bud off and grows up to be big and strong and starts the process anew.
Since they're roughly based on amoebas, it probably goes something like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amoeba#Reproduction_of_amoeba
But I don't think there is an official answer to that. Though one of the devs *might* have some idea.
Pretty sure I've seen this topic come up before in the forums. All of this is nearly deja vu for me.
Uwa!
I think I know the answer. It involves Tailed-Helm knights.
Hmm..Well there is a Jelly King, and an Ice Jelly Queen. So..
There you go?
@Fehzor
I believe in coexistence with knight and monster, and want to see a world where we can live together peacefully.
I don't know if skinning them and wearing them as clothes counts as coexistance...
Well... it might be peaceful, but the jelly isn't alive.
Exactly why it's peaceful. Peace is when all your enemies are dead, preferably made into clothing (see: Wolvers, the Snarbolax, Jellies, Chromaliks, Owlites. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll commence war with Snipes soon enough, too)
Search harder next time, this thread was discussed before.
They make jello, then they place it in their fridge. After a few hours, add spikes and your slime monster is alive! (Slime monsters don't reproduce. They make them.)
**THIS IS NOT REAL, INCLUDING IN REAL LIFE.**
