I'm curious as to how players interact and be one with a guild.

Well from what I've heard and I think is sounds pretty fun...Owsla has weekly parties and birthday parties for guild members.
But from my other knowledge,
A lot of guilds have monthly events where members can earn misc. stuff or do mass runs together, like SL.
I am pretty sure darkcub and Krakob and tell you the entire struggle between 21 and Jempire, two LD nemesis guild. The only person I hate in Jempire is probably Luthieney, why? Coz she left the guild I am in currently for the Jempire, it was a story long ago but I still won't forgive her for leaving me, Lola, H and goodlink behind for some pettiful LD glory.
And more crappy gossip:
Mawashinmono (aka. Mawashingmachine/dragon princess) is originally in Jempire, but after some crappy dispute and some fruad problems, she left the guild and appearantly leaving one of her lover by the name of lionheart, heart-broken (the bad puns never end). Mawashingmachine is now the leader of the guild lionheart, I am not sure why she named her guild that way, if it is really in homage of lionheart himself, then I gues she is somewhat redeemable, but if it is for other reasons, then I guess she just wanna live out a life that you only find in Twilight, the worst(best) female oriented novel ever made.
The richest guild in the game, or should I say the guild that invest most amount of RL cash into this game, the Echo of Silense, this guild is a community/LoLs centric guild who has a blog of their own, their leaders are Njthug (aka. 69 man) and cobalt. The only thing that can be said about this guild is that they are filthy rich, or in NJ's words, they are sexily rich (if that is even a word...)
I am not so sure about the other guild nor do I have time to care, but these are just some of the basics...
That really is some crappy gossip by Dj, and either he or a Game Master should just delete it for its crappy inaccuracy and complete off-topic-ness.
For a response that IS on topic,
Guilds make the game more fun in several ways.
1) It can be kinda lonely without guild chat and people to socialize with. We make it a point to greet one another when we come in-game, and try to maintain a friendly and fun chat environment, bearing in mind that guild chat is a captive audience of young teens on up.
2) Guilds provide you with a group to play with cuz solo runs can be kinda boring, and for some things, like a shadow lair or danger mission, a guild provides an easy way to find a group so you don't have to be one of those pathetic creatures who use trade chat or forums to try to find shadow lair companions.
3) We try to have some event each month, like a lottery or contest. This month it is Secret Santa, natch.
4) Well-equipped guild halls can be fun places to socialize and bond.
5) A guild web site provides a place to share screenshots, art, ideas, or other guild information.
6) For newer players who have questions about the game or still need to get through rank missons, guilds like ours that enjoy mentoring can be an invaluable aid to game enjoyment and keeping players around.
7) Ranks are a good/bad thing. It's fun to look forward to earning a promotion, but kind of a headache for Guild Masters. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of members' join and promotion dates, and can't imagine trying to stay organized without it.
Hopefully they game designers will give guilds more things that they can do together beyond the limited appeal of Guild v. Guild mini-games, but there are still a lot of ways a good guild improves the game.

IDK what everyone else does but my job in the guild is to give everyone food nicknames. We also talk about turkeys and give eachother bad price checks.

Lone wolves never survive, but when they die, they die badass-ly.
here in shard squad we just talk about random things.
oh wait, that is me in any guild I've been.
Our guild is mostly about herpaderping, or that's just me and I take my personality around some guilds.
At first, I was a lone wolf, and I really enjoyed it, but now I am not so sure that lone wolfing is viable, as it's a pain to find a random party to join; damn missions, killing the arcade.
I feel that it's mostly about having a little community that you play with, talk with, and announce random exciting moments or something.
I do recall that for two days, several of us Shard Squadies pulled some pranking shenanigans: We made two people uncomfortable to the point of switching channels; We made a person so uncomfortable that (s)he left his/her guildhall; We caused Sincerelykrystal(sp?) to close the Lionheart guildhall due to something going on in there. (I'm surprised I never got a warning message from a GM)
Then we stopped... because it was pretty risky to do and we were on our main characters. (Oh and Luguiru stopped coming on) :(
