It depends on the enemy, of course. It also depends on what UVs you are able to get, and even on your defenses. For example, Fang of Vog with CTR+6 and lots of fire protection is pretty powerful.

It all depends on your other gear and what you're fighting. Dread venom striker is probably the strongest sword if you have deadly shadow cloak, as attacking afterwards with max damage can deal a huge amount very quickly due to the way that resistances work, but that's more of a speed based tactic.

Acheron is probably the strongest if you're fighting anything besides fiends and undeads, with combuster being the best for undeads (or FoV, like Bopp said, if you have fire resist and won't die from it) and final flourish for fiends.

If you're fighting the roarmulus twins, Divine Avenger is the best.

If you're fighting a mix and have some CTR, troika charges can be quite overwhelming too against many enemies.

Your best bet would be acheron+combuster though.

Sheer damage, you say? Well, Fang of Vog is technically the strongest sword, in terms of damage output in one attack. Combuster is pretty high up there, and burns enemies. Gran Faust has a decently strong combo, with the added Curse effects. Final Flourish is the strongest peircing sword, and Leviathan Blade can overall be a monster in the right hands since it can be used anywhere.

Can't forget Divine Avenger's charge attack, which can have a high overall damage, but only in a large crowd where all three swords hit constantly. Acheron is one of the biggest monsters out there, and how could we forget our old pal DVS, whose high DPS with an added poison effect makes it a swift, albeit messy, killer in the right hands.

But in my true opinion, Cautery Sword (see subject line).

Pshaw.

Acheron on everything but undead and Fiends. Use Combuster on those. The FF is weaker than the Acheron on Wolvers. Yep. Seems legit.

I wouldn't get a GF, but probably and Acheron instead, as the two have the same damage output, and Acheron has the superior disintegration ray charge attack.

Leviathan Blade is good. But most other weapons are better. Sorry Twitter. The random explosive knockback on the charge attack ignites too many angry team mates usually. Couple that with laggily releasing it at the wrong time.

But FOV is the most fun to use. The best sword? Obviously...

FOV WITH CTR MAX AND MAX FIRE RES. You might want some Remedy Pills just in case.
