FIX THE LAG DEV TEAM!

Or at least try to. A lot of the issues come from LAG! And it really affects the way the battle sprites work too given how you guys implemented it, at least from what i can see. And don't just skip parts of this, I made it very clear whats happening in my game!

What LAG causes:
-Shields are useless. You might as well just run in circles or run away, altho you run out of space in some level. Advanced and Elite...eeeh yeah I don't want to go there O_0
-Sprites doing weird things!
So imagine the 'O' is you and '*' is the sprite.
When your still: O *
When you move: <-O____________________ *
And stop, a second later: O___ <--*______
Where the sprite is moving is where your character is, why the heck did you guys put the sprite in the servers? And not on our local machines?
Half the time i try to use it, I end up pointing like an idiot for several seconds. As cute as they are, they are almost damn near useless!

- Weapons, third strike will almost always miss. Any weapon, except ranged, on the third strike on almost all occasions will miss, no matter how close or far your third will strike will miss. Actually, First or Third will miss. I can't seem to judge the correct striking distance. Sometimes its one tile away or sometimes its the tile next to you. What the heck?

-Movement glitches. Apart from the very obvious and sometimes crazy rubber banding and teleportations, sometimes just running past a wall/block or anything, you end up teleporting back and get stuck on it. Happens way too often and its really annoying.

-Other obvious things. You let your team down, because you have react and predict twice as fast as your team mates other wise you won't hit anything and end up as a punching bag for the enemies. Everything you do you have to do in advance, for example, you know those spike traps? Wait until the trap next to it is flashing and continue forward. You'll see that you phase through the next set of spikes, to your team mates, they see you walk with them.

I don't think anyone can do that and i don't think you can do that in this game anyways....

So, what advice can i get?

Here are some answers to advice I got before or might be given:
Yes, my internet is fine for the most part, there are lag spikes but my ISP is too stupid to do anything about it
Yes, I have recommend spec, this machine is able to run Crysis and more, so yeah that's plenty of grunt.
No, I do not have anything running the background that is taking up the game's internet bandwidth
Yes, everything is up to date, drivers, java, steam. etc
This is a clean machine fresh install of windows 8.1, so no junk on it.
No, I will not uninstall and reinstall because that does nothing for me, already did it in the past.

So.....what going to happen? I know there has to be a way to reduce this.
Oh, and should i mention i'm not in America? I'm in Australia

Devs, you guys gonna do anything about this? or are gonna just ignore this and let the marketing people push more stuff so you make more money?

Yeah.... sorry if you are living in Australia, worst pings there. Servers are located in Ashburn, Virginia, USA, and in Ireland, so yeah, you are experiencing a heck of latency. If you can't adapt, which I did, as well as some of my Australian friends, then you may not wish to play Spiral Knights.

As for battle sprites, the issue is with the programming. Notice that if you immediately turn and click on your battle sprite skill, it will not work, because your battle sprite has been scripted with an action to turn and face your direction, thereby refusing any other actions set on it.

To fix this issue, just let your battle sprite turn, and when it's done, click on the skill you wish to use.

On a helpful note : Australian pings should go around 300-400ms.

400!?!?

Holy crap what the heck?
400ms seems too high for USA?, other games base the US i get pings around 200-280ms and that seems to be consistent from my experiences O_0
mmh maybe the servers are different? I have no idea

So I was sort of right with the sprites...I still think they reside in the servers and not on the local machine like our characters are (in terms of control?)
And Yeah now that I think about it, turning does make the sprite sort of unresponsive, altho i tried using the skill standing completely still and it still doesn't really work ><

Btw this won't help my lag but thanks for replying so quickly =)

I kinda want to see what one the dev guys will say about the lag.....if they bother to answer

Lag is ruining the game!!!

Zaffy Laffy answer was bull crap, everyone has lag when they play this game and it's ruining everything I don't understand why Three Rings or Sega won't do anything about it and its been close to a year ,maybe longer, since this lag came. But no one did anything about it. This lag is ridiculously getting worst and all Three Rings is doing is making the game harder and more stressful.

Plzzzzzzzz someone at least make some accommodation for the or get a better server. This game won't last long if u guys keep ignoring the real issues.

What I am describing to Infosus here is latency, ping, distance lag. I am aware that the server may be experiencing major DDoS, but this is not the case for Infosus here. I request you read up on the two different types of internet lag, to get a better idea.

woah woah hold up a

woah woah hold up a second!

Some idiot in the world is chucking a DDoS on the servers?!? WTH?
How often do these attacks happen on SK server's? Or is this that recent one from that hacker group, Derp (or something like that....=S)?

Is this why the game is getting massive and excessive lag after several minutes of play?
Well for me it was. Go rubber banding and teleporting XI

Oh and btw, I have been trying to work around that sprite 'glitch' ,i guess you could call it that, by standing still and activating the skill but it doesn't exactly....well...work.
Still getting the usual non-response pointing...
