Ok, so I used to have OS X Snow Leopard on my computer for like 2+ years. SK worked perfectly (to an extent) for me. Just yesterday I upgraded my computer to the newest version of OS X Mavericks and now I am unable to play SK. Well, I can still play from steam and the shortcut icon I have on my desktop, but I can't open the game directly from a web browser. Normally you would think this is not an issue, but since my main account is on Kongregate and I therefore HAVE to open the game from the browser, I'm and an impasse. If anyone has a solution to this, please help me out.

EDT: Forgot to clarify a few things. When I first tried SK form Kong, it asked me to update my java to java 7, which I did. Now whenever I try to open the game from the browser an application called "bin" opens on my computer with a folder for icon, and it says "Application is not responding". Up in the header the application calls itself "Java Applet - www.spiralknights.com". The window on my browser where I opened the game in Kong, the Java loading screen is perpetually up and the progress bar does not move, as well as the blue spinning circle thing does not spin. If I try to quit the "bin" application that opened up on my computer, the screen in my Kong browser goes blank and I'm forced to reload the page. I've also tried loading the game from the main site, New Grounds, Aeria Games and Armor Games with the same results

I make you black, bluue and red all over

Kilaz's thread on re-enabling java 6 fixed my problem. If anyone else has the same issue, refer to his thread.

Well it turns out that even though I can partially play SK from the web client, the webpage that I opened SK from crashes shortly after I try to play the game. Normally that isn't a problem, as the game starts up before the crash and stays open, but now that SK has a new version the web page crashes before the update is complete. So now I can't play SK from my main Kongregate account, but the steam client still updates and plays perfectly. If anyone has some advice/help for me, I'd gladly take it

Well, to be honest, you don't HAVE to play Kongregate on the browser. There's a way to, which I figured out. Be warned, I made that thread quite some time ago, and insulted modern Pokemon a lot. Not that I regret that, but still be warned.

1. Open up whatever browser you use.

2. Now, go to the link where you normally play SK at. Right-click (or whatever your secondary menu button is) the screen. Good thing you don't need to use Firebug anymore; it doesn't even make sense! Bugs are weak against fire in Pokemon! No. Stop that Pokemon Z or whatever junk. Go away.

3. In the new tab, hit CTRL + F. Input the phrase, href="http://www. Yes, include the quotation mark and that period.

4. One of the phrases that contain that phrase should display some of your information. Username, your ID, and your Auth Token. Copy the whole phrase.

5. Open up Wordpad or some other text editor. Not Microsoft Notepad. That has a weird thing that's too complicated to describe and is all annoying.

6. Now, paste your thingy into the text editor. This is where it gets complicated:

-In your long blast of text, there should be several ampersands. You have to separate the link at those ampersands. Well, you don't HAVE to, but it makes it a lot easier to read. To do this, select the link right next to the ampersand, and press |SPACE| to cut the bit off from the actual hyperlink. Then, press |ENTER| to put it on a separate line for comprehension. Do this for question marks as well, if you see any.

7. Now, in the now cut up hyperlink, find the following. Use CTRL+F if you have to because you have an intellect comparable unfavorably to a table (like if you play Pokemon Z):

-Your web username.

-Your web "ID".

-Your web "AuthToken".

8. Organize the information in this format (include the dashes and equal signs; the XXX is where you fill in the respective values):

KONGREGATE (Myself):

-Dkongregate=true
-DkongregateName=XXX
-DkongregateId=XXX
-DkongregateAuthToken=XXX

AERIA GAMES (Thanks, Flowchart!):

-Daeria=true
-DaeriaId=XXX
-DaeriaAuthToken=XXX

9. All right, now we diverge paths for a step. 9a is for the people who want to keep playing SK on a browser. 9b is for the people who wish to install a standalone client for them to play on while their alt posts on the forums. 9b is for those who post on the forums with an alt account and don't want to keep on logging on and off to play/post.

[Deleted cuz no relevance to you here, being Windows and Linux.]

-Macintosh: Go to [Library], [Application Support], and [spiral]. Make a .txt file, label it "extra", and paste the above format.

All right, now that you've done that, go to the Spiral Knights main website, and click "PLAY". It should automatically recognize your website account and log you in. Welcome, Mr. President. You have just won the award, "Look Honey! I Can Do Programming!". If you failed, you probably played Pokemon Z/had an urge to play it. Typical.

b. First, if you haven't installed the standalone client, go to "PLAY". There should be something that's like "If this don't work, try dis other downloadable version! ^.^". Download it, and install it to wherever you want it to. Just remember where you installed it.

Now, go to the folder that you installed it in, and make a .txt file called "extra". Paste the format that you filled out from above into the file. Save and close it. Launch the application (Dubbed something like "Play Spiral Knights). It should automatically recognize your website account and log you in. Welcome, Your Highness. You have won the award, "Look Honey! I Chose the Option with Less Text!" If you failed, you probably wanted to play Pokemon Z. BAH.

Well, that's my guide to playing website SK without it being on said website. Any questions? There shouldn't be, unless you've played Pokemon Z. But seriously, feel free to ask questions and stuffs.
