I propose a guild ranking system base on a complex formula which would take into account several criteria. Since math is hard and I have no real knowledge about the type of information OOO could easily pull off the system in an automated fashion I will only provide a general layout.
Score = (prestige earned/number of members)+(lockdown rank)+(blast network rank)+(material score)+(previous week rank)
each of the 5 categories would have a 20% weight and the ranking would be updated weekly/monthly.
number of members would factor into two of the categories so huge guilds would not have a massive advantage and non-active members would weigh a guild down. Number of members would have to be pulled at random unknown intervals through the week and averaged so that cheating would not be easy.
Material score would be based on items dumped into a new machine in the guildhall. Points would be rewarded based on the level of the material. Perhaps guildhall decorations could be rewarded based on the cumulative score as well to encourage the destruction of materials.
It is a bit rough and very unlikely to ever be implemented, but it would be interesting to see if guilds would be interested in competing for a rank.
I disagree. I don't wish to turn a game into some sort of competition, not to mention it is no competition to the top guilds, but doing so will ruin the game as a social platform. We don't come online just to stay at the top, with little to no return value in relation to the amount of investment. Just no to any form of large scale ranking.
