I have been interested in this beta level a weeks ago. I would like to ask if someone played that level and what kind of enemies/surprises it has. I haven't seen the Silent Metropolis article in the sk wiki so i think that almost nobody knows about it.

Analyzing the video, Silent Metropolis looks like a combination of Concrete Jungle + Devilish Drudgery, or maybe that is just me

The scenes in 0:28 and 1:08 make me think that it is the Silent Metropolis (looks like a normal Devilish Drudgery but the it uses the wolver den background)
Oh yeah, that confirms that the Tortodrone was supposed to appear in the Silent Metropolis too.
I think everyone who would chime in has slipped into obscurity by now; that was from one of the closed alpha previews of the game.

Though I can add a little insight onto that. Torto himself is really from the 'old era' of spiral knights (all of the various elements and assets that can only be observed in those old videos.) By the time of the game's beta stage, it seemed like he really didn't have a place set in, and they delegated him to a monster spawn in a jigsaw valley level.
Of course, as actions told, this wasn't going to work either, and they removed him until further notice (which has finally come 3 years later).
I wasn't playing the game when this level existed or never played it(I played in beta) , but I had a friend who did. I thought it was pretty boring to watch him because he was killing things way too quickly. My friend had only managed to convince me to play a long time after. The characters name was Blue or Sky or something. It was related to that at least. I also was really mad when I found out DA was nerfed from that charge. Then again, my rank was not even close enough for me to get that weapon.

Honestly, there should be way more gears in spiral knights. the entire world is made up of clockworks, everyone's been stuck on this planet for however long they have, and yet there are no weapons or items based on gears. Even the supposed gremlin weapons like the pulsar don't fit in to the scheme at all D:
A very interesting find, while very simple the level somewhat reminds me of a more open-yet-linear arena stage. Who knows, perhaps this could remind the staff of how the game once was and they can take what people love from the old and merge it with the new...?
Please please please put some animated gear ui in there somewhere I will love you and hug you forever and buy all the energy please ;-;

As to contribute to the topic those floors are kinda similar to something like the Rotting Metropolis levels. Except there are Kats instead of Linchens.
Alls i got to say is i wish we had an option for UI... Sorry had to go back to it.
