Which Armor should I go for if I want to gain access to tier 2?

Not cobalt, but not necessarily wolver, either.

Either will work to get you to tier 2.

I would use wolver if you plan to use mostly swords. If you want to use bombs, buy spiral demo armor/helm. If you really dislike being set on fire and shocked (and who doesn't?), buy magic cloak/hood. If you want to combine bonuses, get a helmet from one set and armor from another. All of these should be readily available in the auction house if you don't find the recipes from Basil.

Cobalt armor is what I used to get to tier 2, but only because I knew I wanted the demo armor and I was sick of looking for it. Cobalt was available, but it doesn't offer the most useful defense (piercing isn't as useful as elemental or even shadow) and it doesn't offer weapon bonuses like increased strength or reduced charge time.

If you had to choose between JUST wolver and cobalt.

then wolver is the obvious choice. The cobalt's only advantage is that it has SLIGHTLY more normal defense. But wolver gives you a sword damage bonus and freeze resist.

owl shield

I see many wolver set guys using owl shield.
I'm using plate shield with wolver set, should I switch to owl too?

They go with owlite because it has elemental defense, most of the projectiles in this game are elemental damage with the exception of kat and jelly spikes.

Wolver for me.

Because the Wolver SET has Damage bonus to Swords. The Cobalt set has... Something I don't know.

@metheone and jooozek : Owlite Sheilds ?... I use a Skelly Shield... XD lol

I'd save money and buy items

I'd save money and buy items that start at three stars. Like gunslinger, chroma, angelic and drake armors. I don't think you should get colboalt though, it offers a little peircing and normal defense, the two least usueful damage defense types. Mixing magic hood and skelly works well.

This is Just Me

Personally, I would get Cobalt, (cuz I alredy have it :p) but to be honest, the Wolver Coat is actually better than Cobalt Armor. Either one is an exellent piece of equipment though so it's more on which one looks better. I would reccomend getting Cobalt Armor if you're low on funds, then as you go, you can get the upgraded versions of the Cobalt Armor (all which are better than Wolver Coat). But as I said, the decision is more on looks, and how well you're doing with those crowns. Besides all that either one gets you into Tier 2.

My Suggestion

Wolver coat is more useful compared to the Cobalt due to the defense being elemental and normal. Most monsters currently deal those two damage types.

Um.

The Wolver set has Normal/PIERCING defense all the way till 4-star('till 5 if you don't count Vog cub).

Also: TECHNICALLY Wolver isn't cheaper than Cobalt, they both have the same recipe price, they both require the same number of Mats(just different ones). Really the onl difference is that Wolver has SLIGHTLY less normal defense, a Low damage bonus to swords, and freeze resist, but it's recipe is harder to find.

Personally, I took the cheapest on the auction, but I have Wolver coat armor, and a cobalt helm, lot's of people seem to love the wolver helm, I don't know why, but I dislike how it looks. Wolver armor is better.

Wolver is overused

Wolver's an over used armor. It makes you look like a furry IMO.

And we know how the internet feels about furries....

So I got Cobalt. I use a wolver helm (costumed up of course), and an elemental shield (horned owlite).

Depends

If u want to advance through the game faster, i suggest colbalt since the missions give it to u and the upgrade recipes. Wolver is to many sword knights better though. Also, normal defense isnt great in t3. But if u want progress, colbalt.

Use the combination of Divine

Use the combination of Divine Veil and Skolver Coat it provides you all types of defenses + Fire, Freeze and Shock resist which is useful. The damage bonus is also decent for Fiends..... For the shield get either a Grey Owlite, Volcanic Plate Shield, Barbarous Thorn Shield and a Swift Strike Buckler..

Personally, I think the Wolver line is better, because it has "damage bonus"
But you can get recipes of the Cobalt series at missions for free. Armour, Helm, Shield, Calibur. And the Cobalt line is like a "knight" more than Wolver!! lol
