It is simple. Allow subscriptions to individual topics. This way I can keep up with the tl;dr-topics that my attention can endure occasionally. I know this is a terrible way for me to present a suggestion but at present, I do not know what other way to elaborate. It also bugs me a bit that trying to search for topics by either the title, user, or key phrases does not work well for me. But then again, there are some things I have not gotten the hang of yet with this particular forum.

Your right, it is simple
  1. Go into thread you want to keep track of
  2. Bookmark the thread

With that considered, there are occasions when I have to wipe my system clean and other times when I am accessing anything SK-related from somewhere else other than my home computer. And little to nothing is saved on campus.

1. Email yourself the links
2. Put them in the 'Important' folder (or whatever's closest to that)
3. Access the links on any CPU.

Or just use dropbox. IT'S FREE!
It also doubles as a image host that doesn't ever delete your images, you can link the source of without bombarding your viewers with adverts, the images can be modified or even deleted after being uploaded, and retain their full quality.
Going by that logic, it also doubles as a place to host your (read-only) webpages

Doesn't drobox have a storage limit. 2GB for free right then you have to pay for more?

How about...

Google Drive, Skydrive (microsoft's version), Ubuntu One... There's a bunch. Most do have a 5Gig free limit (with some well timed promotions for free upgrades to ~20G).

First of all, if you do it right, you should have 2.5GB from following a referral link (that one's mine for convenience, but you don't have to take mine specifically, because I randomly got a crapload of space from some random promotion because I own a phone so get a link from someone who needs the space)

And are you going to fill that up purely with publicly hosted images and text files containing bookmarked links?

@Skepticraven
Just curious, do all those services have an install that automatically uploads files to the cloud from a folder in your computer, and have a system to share files with the public?

Or use 360 Yung Pan for a couple o' TB for free. Crummy upload for Americans due to being in Asia and all though.

While I do make some use of Google Drive (business & academic affairs only), I guess I ought to see about doing the same as has been suggested with Drive as it was with dropbox. I have heard of dropbox before but did not think to check it out myself since photobucket is what I have had for years thus far when it comes to displaying image.

I will take your suggestions into consideration.

And I guess I framed this as a suggestion only because I use to use Yahoo to handle bookmarking in a sense before a few features were removed from the home page display (I honestly forget what it was called). And another reason I framed it as such because Gaia Online might have spoiled me a bit, where I am given notifications for activity when it happens. But that is just me.

Thanks for the guidance thus far folk.

If I'm not mistaken, yes. I haven't installed google/ubuntu's software for dynamic syncing, and microsoft's is just a pain (was forced to use because someone else shared items with me). I use google drive the most, simply from the web interface as my web-related resources to share.
My initial guess is that dropbox probably does it the best, but google is probably a close runner-up (IMO better web-interface than dropbox). I've had problems with microsoft refreshing the syncs when both computers were on at the same time. Never tried U1.

For reference, google drive seems to start at 15Gigs.
U1 at 5Gigs.
Skydrive at 7Gigs (10Gigs if you're a student, and 25Gigs if you find a "free upgrade" offer).

I have already accepted our google overlords.

Anyways, back on topic...
For sharing bookmarks between browsers...
Firefox/Google Chrome I know allow accounts to sync data and log in on multiple computers. Bookmarks can be included as one of the synced items. IE/Opera/Other browsers probably have a similar function.

Are you serious? I haven't seen Google Drive, but Dropbox web interface is pretty darn snazzy, even has right-click capabilities and supports your drag and drop business.

It's been years since I've used dropbox's web interface (Woo for signing up when it first came out in 2007). They seem just about the same now in terms of functionality. Google just allows you to use google docs (+3rd party programs if you set it up) to edit files.
