After a few lag spikes, I got booted from the server. I rejoined and everything seems fine now. Note that my computer runs SK perfectly and my internet is going strong. Is this a case of server-overload?
Anyone else getting extreme lag?

it's actually horrible for me.
I opened task manager to see why my framerate is dropping to 0 every few seconds and it showed that SK is using over 750,000 K and half my CPU. I submitted a bug report.

Just thought I'd chime in... I don't have the best computer for gaming (2.66 GHz i7, 8 GB RAM, Snow Leopard 10.6.8) but even with all the settings as low as possible I've had lag issues all day. I checked to make sure it wasn't my internet. The tortodrone fight is completely unplayable for me. Within 5 seconds of starting I would freeze for several seconds and then find out I was already dead. I was even glitching around the screen a little while T1 fiend grinding if there were more than 2 people in the party. I sometimes have problems with lag in danger rooms or JK with 4 people, but today has been very out of the ordinary.

It's happening to me too, what the hell. My laptop and internet connection is decent enough to run this joint and I never had such ridiculous lag. I just froze as soon as I got into the 1st level of the danger mission. It never happened to me before like that. I don't know what what the hell they did to their netcode or whatever but this crap needs to be fixed AND FAST.

if by extreme lag you mean...
periodic severe lag spikes (1 every few seconds) in any and all "dangerous" prestige missions, and slugish 1-2 bar (by the minimap) lag in arcade and other missions in general that is jerky or just makes your movement erratic and controls generally unresponsive, the lag near the auction house is just my laptop lacking in hardware, the other stuff isn't.
game worked for a few days and now for today and the past 3-5 days its been all of the above non-stop, making missions all but unplayable and no, my internet connection is fine and doesn't lag on other games unless said other games have bad servers or something. its nothing too major (i could always grind crown and the arcade for more) but just earlier today i lost 4-6 life sparks in an arena due to this lag too. almost had a instant-death when a spike hit torwards the end o.O
my question is what the heck is going on here? i'm playing the game via kongregate btw.

Server overload because everyone wants to play.
It's possible that you had to refresh your SK client.
