Spiral Knights crashing my computer

It's completely random when it happens. It might happen two hours after i start playing or just half an hour. I've already tried updating my video driver, playing through the website instead of steam, and enabling compatibility mode in advanced graphics settings but my computer still crashes. It runs perfectly up until it happens by the way. I'm positive that it's not overheating since my computer's fan stays pretty quiet the whole time I'm playing. I also have the latest version of Java. Here's my specs for anyone who needs them (I'm using the system information tool in steam)

Erm...

Are you posting on 2 topics for your different computers? It would help if you posted both in one thread instead of 2. Also, it takes people more than an hour to respond on forums, not really a reason to bump.

My initial guess is it might be other programs not talking nicely at the same time SK is running. Browsing in other tabs at the same time as playing tends to make my game non-responsive during loadscreens (but returns to playable in about 10 seconds).

gnjstdumnrtsu,

That was my cousin who happened to be having a problem as well.

Well I think I was running google chrome while I was playing SK but I forgot if I tried playing without it. I'll give it a try.

Nope

It didn't work. I didn't think it would though. But just to be a little more descriptive of my situation, before my computer crashes it freezes for a few seconds and then the screen turns funny colors and then my computer restarts.

Have you tried with other "heavy" games? or is SK the only one generating this error? Because you say: "freezes for a few seconds and then the screen turns funny colors and then my computer restarts.". I had a similar problem and it turned out it was my motherboard... Just asking.

Sounds like a graphic card crash. The Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family is a pretty weak graphic card...

Maybe

I was using a better graphics card when i first played in beta and i assumed i could play it now since i can still play WoW. Didn't think that might be the problem since i had no texture errors and i wasn't lagging.

Now that I've given it some more thought, I'm pretty sure it isn't my graphics card because I can play games that are as about as demanding as SK and WoW (Which runs almost perfectly on my computer by the way) is definitely just as or more demanding than SK from what I can tell. And yes it only happens when I play SK Wavara.

Greetings,

If you wish please try submitting a bug report after the game crashes and you are able to launch it again. This will allow us to gather some information on what caused the crash. A bug report can be submitted any time the game is running by pressing F2 or by using the /bug chat command after selecting a knight.

However, please be aware that it's possible there may be no solution. The Intel 945G is considered below the minimum specification for Spiral Knights as it only supports OpenGL 1.4 while SK prefers OpenGL 2.0. Compatibility Mode removes some of the most graphics intensive OpenGL features, but other incompatibilities can still remain. WoW likely runs better due it utilizing DirectX 9, which Intel was much more responsive in supporting fully at the time your graphics card was created.
