there's no way we can wear tight fitting armors like cuirasses, culets, and the celestial/galactic armor with them. even if we had very small divine avengers and iron lockboxes, they would still be instantly crushed. we reproduce asexually by laying eggs. that's why we all look the same. we excrete waste through our mouths; my former guildmates at the halcyons odyssey did so daily whenever they played gvg lockdown.
we don't have gonads
when the skylark was attacked by pink laser beams of death that came out of cradle, all the recruits on board except for the npcs were instructed to clone themselves by laying eggs. these eggs were referred to as "drop pods." the eggs safely crash-landed on a grassy area in cradle, and the recruits on the skylark died. their emergency revives were already used up from the morai wars, and they didn't have any sparks because there was no energy left in isora to make them. everyone else did a leap of faith out of the skylark and landed on a giant bale of hay. ever since the knights landed on cradle, they started practicing abstinence.
This is probably going to get Eurydice'd. Talk of one's junk is generally discouraged.
I thought we were biomechanical. What's to say you couldn't build a knight?
What...
The heck?
What if we're all males? And then there is one queen on Isora?
This is really creepy.
In this case everything would be located inside our bodies and only go out when needed.
It also could be possible that knights have strayed away from traditional means of reproduction and have decide to do every thing in labs so that would make all knight test tube babies. This could be probable since knight have to be ready for combat and pregnancy would get in the way, so have the child develop externally would be more beneficial for a knight life style. In the same sense it could be possible that knights have abandon the idea of parenting and everyone is born labs, then receives basic training and then become an adult after so military graduation cermony.
This could go many ways since we have been given much information about the isorian culture, but oddly enough we've learn lot about cradle and still no nothing of the knight we play as.
Knights come in packets.
A baby knight.
If we're going to take costumes seriously for a moment, they might be the answer.
Costumes; wearing armor that isn't actually there.
Spiral Knights must have some seriously advanced hologram/cloaking technology.
What if that also applied to our armor, which we seemingly can never take off?
We could be shrimp piloting suits of armor... or we could be phantasmic and colossal, our 'knight' representing a weak point that we have to protect, but can also use to manipulate the physical world.
Or we could just be sentient jell-o, but that'd be boring.
Ah... you see... ermmm.....
*mind blown*
I don't really thing pregnancy would get in the way. Depending on what you mean, girl knights could strap shields to their fronts to help protect (hey we could be invincible if we wore shields all over). Also, I don't think you could know what pregnancy is like if you don't experience it (I never have, just saying).
Yes, but they break slower if you're running away from the enemies, which I think is the case here.
I may not know what its like but I do know that it make life somewhat more difficult and which is why maternity leave exists though this would prohibit the individual from combat and depending on the length of the pregnancy which we would know because isorians aren't human.
Yes they could strap shield but i think that make life generally harder, heavier and less maneuverable over all test tube babies look far more appealing for and advanced race that strives for a military life style.
But then again these are all assumptions and it could go either way.
Well, we still don't know if knights do lay eggs, become pregnant or what. Maybe they're babies are really small, cause knights look like they're 4 feet tall, except big ones like Desna and Feron. Could be that daddy knights go fight while mommy knights stay at haven.
You see, when a daddy knight and a mommy knight loves eachother so much...
Boswick Makes the mommy knight pregnant and kills the daddy knight.
I think the average height of knight (with normal mod) might be more around 3'3" or 95-110cm taller knight like Desna and Feron might clock near just under 4 ft. I know there that picture that has a knight next to a TF2 character but the scaling looks off.
This yet is another reason I wish developers would give us some more background information on knights.
Yeah, I wish there was more story for this game. I always thought Desna was about 5 feet tall (idk why I thought that...).
Due to the thread title, suddenly Orbs of Alchemy take on a completely different meaning.....

Yeah. Also, Storm Rider Mantle gives you some wicked long barbie legs.
I wouldn't assume that all Isorans are Knights.
It's highly likely that Isorans are mammals and reproduce as such, however we don't know the physical trait(s) or role(s) the gender(s) play. They could be egg laying mammals, they could use test tubes, they could have males carry the child to term like a sea-horse, who knows!?
However with Knights, you don't want space faring soldiers accidentally making babies. It is likely that somewhere along their preparation for using knight armors that these biological functions are put on hold or removed with drugs or surgery.
@ Spiruy
I doubt it. A eunuch lacks the aggression that a soldier should have, due to a lack of testosterone. Why would Spiral HQ want an army of the meek and mild?
The new costumes show clearly that we are stickframes under all that armor... how could you have missed this? It's so obvious.
I have never seen a Spiral Knight egg. Pics please!
