NOTE: This is NOT a suggestion. This is a discussion of the possibility of getting Spiral Knights on the PS4. Hence that is why it is General Discussion.
There are many things to consider on this matter. Firstly: Will Sony allow Spiral Knights to move onto consoles?
I think yes. There are already over 1,000 devs slated to release games on the PS4. (Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/28/more-than-1000-devs-licensed-to-s... ). Also, Spiral Knights is a very unique game, which could increase the chances of getting it onto the consoles.
Secondly: The programming. Spiral Knights is written in Java. Now I'll say it: I know next to nothing about programming or programming languages. So it would be nice if someone with some programming experience/knowledge could provide some insight.
Third: Hardware. Can the PS4 run SK efficiently? Well my crappy PC can so I guess the PS4 can too.
Fourth: Is it worth it? Even if Sony gives permission to put it on PS4, and the programming allows it, and that there are (relatively) low hardware issues, is it worth it to put SK on the PS4? Sure, valuable dev time would be taken up. I'm just gonna leave it open for debate.
My boyfriend and I are planning to get a PS4 for Warframe and because we heard there's going to be a SAO game for it as well. If Spiral Knights was also on the PS4, that would be great since I already use a controller half the time for SK anyway.
