Gunner Update, Arcade Redux, and New Storyline?

We've been waiting a VERY long time for this new content, but sadly it hasn't been released yet. I'm wondering if anyone here on the forums could accurately estimate when these updates may be released. I'm a bit confused.

Why is it taking so much time to make new guns? Don't these people dedicate their work hours on SK? How many work days should it take to make new content like that?

Arcade Redux is said to be released in stages. We haven't even gotten the first stage yet

New Storyline/Overhauled mission system, I'm VERY excited for this one :D

I'm making this thread because, I dunno, let's just discuss what we want from the updates. I'm just so excited for when we might get these changes.

It's a small team working on a huge update.

This is one of the most important things people forget. You can't expect a small team to automatically create a huge update. It could take quite a lot longer to be honest. Not to mention all the things OOO is tossing in between like all these new events and promos.

Just be patient. Eventually it will come.

As for what I am hoping from the update: NPC interaction. I've said this multiple times but it still holds true. I want Rhendon in my game again. Whether I see him in the new story line or even placed in the Arcade for some reason.

It's been a while since I've seen this thread show its head.

We'll get there when we get there!

We did get the first phase of the arcade redux. We had the gates removed, plus the redux pretty much caused the radiant drought for a good six months. The second phase hasn't hit us yet but it's bound to eventually, maybe with the new boss or mission rework.

As for update dates, Three Rings couldn't follow through on their predictions so they've pretty much pushed the updates back to "whenever they're ready", which is completely a-okay with me. Good content is always better than fast content in my book!

I think it might be hard devising a boss that's really awesome, and keep it from being another grindfscallyourlife addition.
Also, there are guns and armor, and they could (take my opinion with a grain of salt, this was never stated and I'm not sure of it) be adding new damage types or statuses and new monsters associated with the new boss.
As for the arcade redux, they could add more levels and the game files sort of support this and nick said we would be seeing more water in the future.
Also take into account the developers schedule. Do they have to spend over a month straight programming stuff? They need to eat, and might just enjoy being outside or going on a trip once in a while.
TL;DR, they could be programming more than they said they would.

Plot twist: OOO's has already finished making the gunner update and is waiting as long as possible to put it off.

We got just as many new items and gear between the first announcement from all the promos that have come by so far.

Super Plot Twist: Still waiting on Iron Slug Buff-date. 2 years in the making.

Remember when they first released accessories and they broke the Rescue Camp in doing so? Or when they updated the Trojan textures and caused a memory leak that prevented the game from running for more than 5 minutes? Yea. I bet they're still trying to fix a few bugs, such as:

status chance on the Polaris is still too low.
shots fired from the new guns move backwards and hit the user instead.
starting the updated game on a Windows client not located in the Three Rings office deletes system32.

I can understand the disappointment in their delay. I'm getting impatient too. But I'm holding moderately high hopes that they're releasing something much bigger than just a gunner update because, honestly, how long can it take to cop-... uh, spoilers! And as has been mentioned already, they are planning to add more to the storyline and create a new boss, so those features might also be at least in the works.
