Instead of duel wielding, we would have the option to use heavy weapons with two hands, and instead of a dome shield, you would have a frontal shield.

The attack combo would be a large swing, (similar to the first swing of a normal heavy weapon) followed up by a stab or an overhead slam (The charge attack would be the same overhead slam as it is now).

This idea is very unpolished, but I think it would be better than duel wielding.
