If any game, 2D or 3D, would be made in 494x286, what would it be, new or redoing of old?

I just had a curious thought centering about how a game in such a screen size would be like in that custom-made viewport size, that doesn't deprive of crisp pixel perfect quality as other gaming systems have that kind of crisp quality.

I'm not just limiting it to one screen alone, too. I also mean dual screens, too.

Dual-Screen Dedicated Handheld Gaming Discussions

I've had a very great fond of dual-screen handheld gaming systems, & still do today, but for the present being, there aren't any new ones like what we've seen, that is to say, the Nintendo DS, DSi, & 3DS.

Let me talk about a couple benefits in terms of what dual-screen handhelds brought since they arrived into our lives.

Bosses' designs, references, and inspirations. Let's talk.

A lot of us have faced and defeated countless, numerous bosses in many games, hundreds, thousands even, who knows how many, but there's always this ever-thriving question about their original designs, and their appearances... what are their inspirations behind their designs, such as references from past media spanning TV shows, movies, maybe even books of different kinds... or rather, other places outside of 'em? Even more, bosses also take some inspiration or reference to prior games.

Sonic's canon inconsistencies are mind-tearing!

I'm getting too sick of constant back and forth backtracking in terms of canon management in the Sonic series! I don't know where to begin.

To state, its a post to let out frustration about what the Sonic series is going through lately and what could and can be done to address this good. Some kindness is necessary, please.

To start...

The Sonic canon seemed to be in a constant flux, which many people seemed to be content with for a while, but the idea to keep it under control would be in the cards. The overall execution is recently not well-managed.

Discussion about 2D game maps & their sizes

Verfasst von Bernston am Sa, 09/16/2023 - 15:34

  • Gremlin Chatter

I've sometimes gone to look at different maps across different games to get the know-how on their layouts, routes, different paths to take in past and present games, etc., not counting those made in 3D, and have, at times, wondered which games' maps are the longest, largest, or both yet, in terms of size. I really don't know much, but I'm very intrigued in how their sizes are when those 2D games are made. I'm talking about those games that use pixel art as tilesets to make their levels, along with those ranging in different styles.

How come people hardly discuss topics here lately?

I visited from time to time to see how discussions have been going, but there seems hardly any discussions going on in this part of SK's forums, even off-topic, that's apparently quite more inactive than ever.

People come to the forums to take stress off from daily life routines, get to chatting on what strategies are effective, so on and so on, and even talk a bit about off-topic stuff. While I really enjoy the forums, there's still needs a bit more activity to keep the topics going.

Anyone have any topics to keep it going? I'm sure there's some that are willing.

Our Video Game History On All Fronts Needs Saving, Now, More Than Ever!

I'm badly hurt with Nintendo's present decisions to cut off access to the 3DS & Wii U games shortly! It really defines the destruction of countless work and hours of video game history from Nintendo's past when it comes to their games & countless other gaming companies, even indies, that have put all their effort into bringing their games for people to play and enjoy, even to their children. Yes, the Wii U was a disaster, but the games made there don't have to go, too!
