Prestige mission strata/level does not check Tier Access

I have two characters, one was a Squire and the other a Soldier. I noticed when I became a Soldier that the Prestige missions forced me to play vs a Lvl 9 instance (Machine Shop 13 example). When my second character completed the Snarbolax mission and flipped to Soldier I was given access to Pretige missions. I have *not* done the Hall of Heroes access mission on the new Soldier ... so I *do not* have the permission to access the Moorhead Manor/Lvl 8 rest area or missions in the Arcade on Tier 2.

However the Pretige mission is level 9, clearly in the Tier 2 area.

Please fix this so the system checks to see if the character is authorized to do mission in Tier 2 before providing T2 level instances for Prestige missions.

(The difference is important for players wanting to farm Flawed vs Simple Orbs since the Pretige missions usually start in the second half of the Tier.

I can only assume the same issue occurs for the rank that can first access T3 as well.

Spiral Spelunker Achievement

Forbush-Man, the Character *who has not* done the Hall of Heroes Mission that provides you with the Certificate so you can access T2 missions ... *has* been granted the Spiral Spelunker Achievement. Why? I have not "Earned Clearance to Explore Tier 2 of the Clockworks" !! I have not yet received my Certificate that allows me to pass beyond the guard on stratum 8.

What this shows me, it that you currently have two different mechanisms in play:

1) A Rank Mission dependant path that requires one to do the Hall of Heroes Mission to receive the Cobalt Crest/Certificate which allows you to pass beyond the Spiral Guard on Stratum 8 to access the gate for Tier 2 Missions.

2) Any Squire who defeats the Snarlobax in the Rank Mission "Shadow of the Beast" is given the Sprial Spelunker Achievement and all Prestige missions follow the Soldier track (being level/stratum 9 missions and not 5).

This needs to be fixed. You can't be both.

As stated in my initial submission, I feel the player should not get *any* Tier 2 access until they complete the Hall of Heroes mission. At that time the Spiral Spelunker Achievement/Prestige mission level/T2 access certificate would be granted and everything becomes T2 oriented.

The only reason I did the Shadow of the Beast mission was for the Evo Catalyst since my Battle Sprite was at level 14. *Not* just to access more difficult missions.

Greetings,

To clear things up a bit:

Achievements are account-wide; they are not linked to the individual knights on your account. Once they are unlocked they are permanent.

Upon completion of Shadow of the Beast you're given a complete outfit for starting Tier 2 content. While a little odd since the Hall of Heroes is placed at the end of the non-Clockworks set of Missions, Soldier rank is considered Tier 2. The Hall of Heroes is more of a formality; you've already earned the access equipment-wise. By having a friend who will direct invite you the Tier blocks can be temporarily skipped anyway so as not to prevent cooperative friend play across skill levels.

Missing the point

Thanks for the clarification about the Achievements ... so it wasn't the second character that tripped that...

Sorry, I, and it seems a lot of other players, do not agree with the ability to invite 'unqualified' lower tier authorized players to higher tiers without them 'earning' the rights. Just because the missions rewarded me with 2* equipment, doesn't mean I might still be crazy enough to still be in 1* equipment and now am trying to do the Prestige missions in them.

Either a player goes through the *process* and the Certificate has meaning (well, it does for general Arcade access) or the whole storyline/mission sequence is, well, less than optimal. Perhaps a simple enough swap would be to put the Hall of Heroes mission as the first 4-1 Rank Mission instead of 3rd.

Prestige missions *still* should not change until the certificate is obtained, IMHO.

Think of it as ... I bought an Army uniform and some equipment somewhere so I guess I must be in the Army.... oh wait I don't have my papers ... but a really good buddy of mine is gonna let me come along on some combat missions for 'fun'. ... wouldn't work in the RL world, why would a disciplined organization like the Spiral Knights allow it? Hmmm...
