As long as you acknowledge that you're necroing and/or you have something important to add on the topic, and you know you will (probably) not get a response from the previous posters, I would go ahead and necro in support. Especially because that thread is bigger and more fleshed out.
But I'm not sure. *shrugs*
There is a difference between bringing up an old topic to support it and necroing threads just for the sake of it.
Feel free to necro a thread if you want to contribute something to it (especially to good threads).
Don't just pull up an old thread and put a +1 on it.
Unfortunately some people view all necros to be bad, and some just don't care.
