I'm currently rank 3-1, and I have 1 star equips. Almost all of them are at Heat 3-5, but should I even bother maxing them?
Should I even bother grinding Heat for my 1 star equips?

Ymsmash, the only reason to ever use 1-star items is Tier-1 Lockdown. Otherwise, post #1 is right.
Ignore the hostility of post #2 (unless you're a troll, in which case it's deserved).

Well...
If your weapons are really good,DO heat them up to max.They will be useful when you want to get some higher equipment with Krogmo coins,but too inexperienced for Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 Lockdown.

Up to you really. If everything else is fully heated, there really isn't any harm in doing so. I'm still heating my Super Stun Gun.
