Etc.
Would be cool.

You seriously want a shield that does Curse? I'm all fine with shields doing status and all but it makes more sense for them to do stun. You're hitting them with a shield, that will always stun someone (and is a tactic used in the past TO stun people...long, long ago...). So why would you have a shield doing curse just because it has shadow defence?
I'm fine with shields doing status but not status AND defence (without the defence dropping ALOT).

I think this is a good idea, it'd be cool for some (not all) shields to inflict a different status.
E.g. dragon scale shield can inflict fire because it's on fire. Also all the breaker shields could all inflict their related statuses because this would be neat for newer players and would make sense.

I actually suggested this prior before and got a comment from Nick prior to leaving Three-Rings:
We may implement differences in the future (we've discussed it), but not until we release the initial feature and collect data on how its being used by players.
Secondly, while variety is nice, the purpose of dash and bash is to give all players a useful ability that doesn't require too much thought. Adding further complexity where a bash might end up being suboptimal for a level could muddle things. But, we'll see!
I'm still up for this suggestion though and would give it my +1.

I think this is a cool idea, but I don't think it would work with current shields. It would be cool if they made some new shields that have possibility of status infliction, but in order to keep game balance they would have to be less powerful shields, and the infliction rate would have to be low.
In other words, i think this concept could work if they brought in new shields that specialized in doing it
