I don't know about the rest of you, but one of the biggest irritants I have with this game is the material sharing. There is nothing more annoying than single handily fighting a trojan or some big beast, while your team mates are lying dead, only to watch that shadow steel go to the loser that has spent the whole time charging at the front of the trojan with a pistol. I would LOVE to see it so that materials would go on a damage lottery style. Knights that were involved in fighting a monster get a percent chance to get the material it dropped based on how much damage they did. That would stop people from leeching materials by sitting around dead waiting for a res. If three people participated in killing the monster where two people worked to take it down and a third slipped in and killed the monster at the last moment, than that person has a much less chance of getting the material than the two that worked to kill it. Over all with a good team most materials would still be equally shared, but when you have a really weak player, they won't get to take advantage of the rest of the team.

How does this encourage lazy
How does this encourage lazy farming? If the only way you could be considered for a material is if you actively participated in killing the monster that dropped the material than you HAVE to be an active player.

@Credendo - Sorry, but basing
@Credendo - Sorry, but basing the percentages on damage inflicted is very unfair. It would prejudice the drops in favor of high-DPS sword types, even though the lower DPS Cryotech gunners or Shivermist bombers are just as valuable to the party for their crowd control efforts.
You're trying to compensate for lousy parties by changing the drop mechanics, which is the wrong way to solve the problem. Work on finding better parties, and you won't have to deal with non-contributing party members in the first place...
Reason I said no is, 1 fact that this is really stealing the idea and making more lazy people and more farming. Which this is from facebook's games which it shouldn't bring such idea be good point. Of course this would bring another chaos to the game in spiral knights.
