Prestige. Something that is simply a cool badge. A REALLY cool badge.
I know it's been suggested before but I think everyone can get behind the idea of adding a token for Daily Missions that we can spend at a new shop. Making this I feel like should be relatively easy (I have no idea) and will have good retainment of players depending on what's in the store.
I think the shop should have a stock that replenishes every month. Why? Well because of the items I have in mind for the shop. And the shop can have more stock depending on your Prestige Rank. All items would be Bound.
Shop Items
- Prestige Prize Box: Can contain 1UV or 2UV tickets and a Weapon/Trinket slot. Starting stock can be one or two boxes a month maybe? This way we can get the slots through playing the game and have some UV rerolls as a treat.
- Shadow Lair Keys: We need more ways to get these keys other than the Supply Depot. This'll make Shadow Lairs actual content that can be profitable. Perhaps starting stock can be 1 or 2 per month.
- Rotating Costumes/Accessories: Every month, have a different stock of costumes and accessories ranging from the prizes within Silver Key Lockboxes. These would be announced the month before so people can decide to save their tokens or not.
And some materials/rarities to farm:
- Heat Crystals: Radiants, Shinings, etc. 100 monthly stock per crystal?
- Orbs of Alchemy: Eternals, Elites, etc. Atleast 3 for the starting stock per orb
- 5* Materials
- Pet Food
I think it's a simple and small enough of a stock to start on. Much better than what we have now imo. Then the shop can be added on way later such as Danger Mission-related recipes for equipment like... And yes I'm going to insert my daydreamt ideas here: a Toxoil set, Flamethrower gun that's good for widespread burn, Almirian Spear which would be a shadow flourish but slower and has a charge that charges through enemies without getting suicided, Maulos Mace which can be a shadow only weapon with a charge like Fang of Vog but for Freeze, GitM elemental bomb that's shoots a tracking shock soul and leaves a mist, etc
A lot of potential for this shop. And maybe later have more Danger Missions, who knows.
Thoughts?
TL;DR please implement a daily token from Prestige missions for a stock-limited shop
I love these ideas.
I absolutely think that GH needs to add a short term reason to check back into the game. They already have a prestige system set up, let us earn mission-specific tokens from them and spend them like you suggested. Currently prestige missions arent rewarding for anyone who has max prestige, or even close to max. Adding some sort of way to turn the time we spend in those harder daily missions into rewards would be incredible.
GH should also add rotating missions to the prestige docket. Imagine if they even just scaled up random story missions to t3 and rewarded prestige! For example, a prestige day of t3 jelly king, or alone in the dark, etc would encourage players to revisit old missions and stories, and even possibly some better alternatives to vana :)
I believe theres tons of stuff GH could do short term, that doesnt seem like a huge lift just to encourage players to check in every day.
Now, touching on rotating cosmetics: I think its an absolute crime that GH doesnt have a scheduled rotating supply depot of cosmetics. There are so many basic cosmetics like side blades, com units, etc, that they could cycle through daily or even weekly for the players to collect. Hell, even adding a limit of 1 purchase for these rotating items would keep the rarity, yet give people a reason to check back more often.
I also think that they should have a monthly or quarterly prize box in the depot, something like super old boxes, or even guild hall items for the players to purchase. Sure, boxes for real money purchase are good, but with the returning players, there are so many boxes that we havent seen in 5-10 years that even allowing players to buy 1 of would be great for trading and for the health of the community.
Hopefully after the java graphics driver updates, GH will try some of these smaller fixes to get the playerbase growing once again.
