Additions To The Game:
~ Endless Arcade:
It would be nice to see some form of Arcade that is truly endless as opposed to only going to the Core and leaving. Endless Arcade should feature leaderboards to encourage people to go as far as they can. Endless Arcade should NOT have Sparks of Life or Energy for Reviving, as the players who dump the most money will simply perform better; instead, only the Emergency Revive per Depth should be applied. The deeper you go, the more enhance the rewards are. Leaderboards reset after a set amount of time, giving players new placement to strive for, and the enhanced rewards for playing provide players with a reason to engage with Arcade in the late-game as opposed to only farming FSC.
Changes To The Game:
~ Crown Adjustments:
Crowns in the early game are very sparing and you only really have a way of farming Crowns around Defender Elite/Vanguard when you can do FSC consistently. I understand that crowns should scale with progression to make it feel like you are moving up in the world, but it would be nice to see more fluid progression and adjusting crown rates to feel better for new players. Late-game and FSC are fine, the issue is entirely Crown farming BEFORE you have access to such.
~ Silver Keys, Slime Keys, and Shadow Keys, Oh My:
Keys in general are too expensive for your casual player to really engage with. Back in the day, this content use to be more of a late-game player thing, but as time has gone on, equipment has been updated, and a lot of this stuff has aged like milk. Yes, late-game players still engage with this content of course, since it is content in the game and the game does not have too much going on with it, but at the same time, the actual "need" to run this content has lessened. Id love to see this content get adjusted to feel more worthwhile to engage with, or the prices get decreased to allow casual players to engage with this content more often (Id prefer the later of these two).
~ Equipment Adjustments:
This one is a given, I can think of a ton of weapons that genuinely need adjustments of buffs. Mostly just armors; since as it stands, most people just use Chaos and Black Kat for most content, since they provide the most utility and damage without forcing you to really commit to a specific playstyle. Most armor sets that do have you forced into a specific playstyle are not necessarily bad, but do not provide enough worthwhile buffs compared to Chaos and Black Kat. Increased charge speed on Bombs is nice, but why would I run that when Chaos already does that AND provides a damage buff. Increased damage on Swords is nice, but why would I run that Black Kat provides a better damage buff AND has increased Movement Speed. You kind of see my point? These sets are not bad at face value, but the "best" sets are just generally better.
Here are other things Id love to see adjusted;
- Big Angry Bomb (Knockback is funny, but it tends to work against it, even more blast radius would be nice).
- Heavy Deconstructor (Damage VS Construct but not being Elemental damage is kinda bad).
- ALL Crystal/Shard Bombs (These things genuinely are the worst in the game, the Knockback is inconsistent and doesnt allow for chain explosion damage, Stun/Shock can sometimes be counterintuitive).
- Cold Iron Vanquisher (Cool looking sword, Damage VS Undead but not Elemental damage is kinda stinky).
- Fang of Vog (Fang of Vog).
- Dread Venom Striker (Raise the chance of procing Poison on enemies).
- Leviathan Blade (Leviathan Blade).
- Amputator (Amputator is similar to Cold Iron Vanquisher, just change the damage type to Shadow please).
- Fearless Rigadoon (I love this weapon but raise the chance of procing Stun on enemies, I think this would turn it into an amazing weapon against Wolvers since it slows them down when they are already agile).
- Furious Flameberge (raise the chance of procing Fire on enemies).
- Sudaruska/Triglav (I love these weapons, just buff the damage on them and make the status on their Charge Attack always proc since it is a bit inconsistent).
- Turbillion (Fix/Buff the Charge Attack).
- Argent Peacemaker/Sentenza/Gilded Griffen/Obsidian Carbine (Make the Charge Attack hit in a wider area and increase the damage).
- Callahan (This entirely might be a hot-take, but this thing should not be piercing. Most enemies weak to piercing are also really, really agile. This weapon is really slow. In general, I think this should be Elemental damage).
- Volcanic Pepperbox (Charge Attack should always proc Fire status. Raise the status chance overall).
Keep in mind most of these are my personal opinions on what should be changed to make these things more viable. If you have any better ideas, feel free to let me know.
Hey! I'm here to tell you that even though the community says these things a lot and agree with you - I don't want you to think I'm nagging you that it's bad this stuff gets repeated. It's great actually! Everyone is on the same page for these types of changes (the specifics are always argued though), including GH I believe. The only thing we haven't really heard from them is agreeing keys are a bit of a problem I think? Shadow Lair keys especially are a problem since it blocks off decent content since it's not as profitable. Doing things are fun, but when the game has an economy, we'd rather do the content that is fun AND profitable
Along with your recommendations for equipment, the only one I wanna talk about is the Fang of Vog. I think FoV is a balanced weapon in an unbalanced world of armors. The Fire damage it procs to you is actually not that bad when you have full Vog Cub equipped (since it's meant to be used with that set) but I think the problem is that you can't be immune to the status. Even with full Fire resistance, that is still damage done to you when compared to the Combuster, which doesn't damage you. So I think you should be able to be immune to self afflicted status after a certain resistance - even then, FoV may not compare to the other elemental weapons.
I love to hear others opinions! And I love your opinion on the game! It shows we just want the best for the game, and for everyone to have fun while still supporting the devs who make it. Thank you for letting me read your thoughts on it all!
