I've been playing for a few weeks now, and I just got my first equipment drop from a green treasure box (was a bomb can't remember the name). I was just wondering how rare it is for equipment to come from boxes or even from monsters? I never knew you could get them as drops until today.
How rare are equipment drops?

I don't think any of us can give a solid % chance of it occuring, but yes, they're very rare. I average an equip drop once every week, if not more.

I found 3 in my entire sk life.
I still remember being reprimanded for 'stealing' the eq in T1 back then.

I found about 3 or 4 in my entire life, but I work with others so I never got them until today. Irontech Destroyer. I've encountered a few more than that that others had picked up out of my view but because of chat logs and different things, I forgot how many I've seen like that.

I never got any equipment drops from anything in SK. Because of this, I guess that equipment drops are really rare. They should change how the equipment drops work, it is just really unfair when you found the drop but the others took it (it's distributed randomly, isn't it?). They should make it so that everybody gets the drop (or at least the guy who killed monster/broke the treasure box gets it). This would prevent a fight that yuuzora had and make everyone happy. I understand how mats are distributed randomly, they are common so with another run you can probably get it. But equip drops are just too rare, giving it to only one person means that other players won't be able to get it for a long long time and get angry.

I want to correct myself here.
I found 6 equipment myself, 3 of which came from soloing and if my memory serves me well, most if not all are from boxes.

I got a Brute Jelly Shield
I got a Brute Jelly Shield from the Slime arena in Ruby Knight gate, it is in one of the boxes after the third room. Lucky I was solo...
Yeah you can obtain gear but its very rare. I found a Crystal Bomb (I wonder if thats what you found) and a Brute Jelly Shield. So yeah its extremely rare.
