I gotta say I love the cute mecha look of the spiral knights... and so I would like cute mecha tanks and heavy armaments. Cute little spiral tanks themed up like their helmets charging down their enemies, blowing down walls, all the fun stuff. Vulcan cannons and rocket launchers to fight enemy hordes. And enemy castles to tear down to make best use of the weapons.

I'd see this most easily as a PvP thing, castle vs. castle, blow down towers and heavy doors and destructible walls like a siege. I can see layers of the clockwork being enemy fortresses that you could go through normally if it'd be very hard to assault or grabbing a missile pack and plowing down enemy barracks. Be a good excuse to pull out bigger enemies of non boss varieties and enemy vehicles, maybe even little air battles with spiral blimps and mini-missions in the layers.

Obviously that would be a ton of work then there's the question if they're be a garage to have a personal vehicle or pre-mades available where needed but I'd fully endorse the Spiral Heavy Arms Corp.

Different game

In Spiral Knights, you are meant to be knights, not tank drivers or pilots or the like. It is bad enough them having guns and bombs. Having more and more non-knighty stuff just ruins the knight theme.

@jeffreysgf: They crashed

@jeffreysgf: They crashed landed a space ship on a giant mechanical planet, and you think weapons technology is out of place for them??

I understand tanks and stuff

I understand tanks and stuff are a world apart, but bad enough you have guns and bombs? Firearms, explosives, cannons, and siege engines not only existed during the times of knights.... but the spiral knights had a spaceship. That's why the crashed on clockwork. Spaceships are not knightly either. If you want historical accuracy in a whimsical video game then I honestly don't know what you're doing here. They're obviously space travelers who love swords and awesome space tech like mist energy and the developers did a great job with them, knight technology levels be darned.

Note this is not a defense to my suggestion, only the developers can decide what to do, I just took offense to you talking down this game for something so foolish.

They use a space ship to

They use a space ship to travel, yet the fight with only armor, just like knights. Yes there was siege equipment during the time of knights, but how many knights actually used them? They had lower people using the siege equipment, the knights did not use them. The knights used swords, shields, spears, arrows, etc.

The Spiral Knights have

The Spiral Knights have thematic similarities with medieval knights, but they aren't medieval knights; they're different in a lot of ways. Their weapons tech is pretty carefully designed and all fits pretty well together; what, you don't object to the VDUs they've got everywhere, or the hologram projectors, or the vending machine-esque Alchemy devices, or the fact that half their equipment has lights on it and some of the swords fire freakin' laser bolts? COME ON. (Edit: also, bombs have been an element of European siege weaponry since the 16th century, and cruder explosive weapons like cannons since the 11th.)

Besides, they are fighting enemies that can manufacture rocket launchers, flamethrowers, robots, particle beams, lasers...considering that the Knights have made armour and weapons inspired by Clockworks inhabitants like Wolvers, Chromalisks and Jellies, wouldn't it make sense for them to try back-engineering some of the more advanced technology down there?

That said: I can't see the OP's features being integrated into SK; you're really talking about a different game entirely there. It's a game I'd definitely play, but it's not Spiral Knights.
