I would rather they first

I would rather they first actually make the guild hall do something.

I don't think you'll be able to afford the furniture anyway when it comes out.

Not to mention there are better things they should be working on.

Read WindOwl's response. You will get what you desire from that game, and more...

Player houses have come up

Player houses have come up before, and I'm not opposed to them if handled in a manner that's appropriate to the atmosphere and in-game lore of SK; this is not that. I agree that Guild Hall enhancements are likely to take priority, but there are players out there who prefer to go solo, and I think it'd be unfair if they're denied all the cool toys.

THIS POST WILL NOW DIVERGE - CHOOSE YOUR PATH WISELY

Addressing The Problem Answer: My solution to a player housing thing would be to give players small, but functional dwellings, like the robust tents and prefab buildings found at long-term archaeological dig sites. These could be made from elements of the player's original Drop Pod - after all, they're survival pods, right? It'd make sense for them to be convertible into some sort of durable but temporary abode while the Knight awaits rescue, and indeed the Rescue Camp is composed almost entirely of such structures.

Now, Drop Pods are obviously pretty small, so player homes couldn't be cavernous apartments - which again, makes sense in context, as the Knights are neither expecting nor willing to stay on Cradle forever. But they'd be a space that players could customise to a certain extent (some furniture items, maybe Fallout 3-style themes), and where trophies or medals (representing Achievements, boss kills &c) could be stored and shown off. Players would be assigned a dwelling in an instanced neighbourhood of the Rescue Camp, separate from the area that new players are automatically guided to, but with a comparable aesthetic and maybe even a couple of crossover amenities like Stranger vendors. Instancing is important, because it allows for many players to have homes in the same Rescue Camp - which lends a sense of community to the enterprise - whilst taking the strain off the servers the same way Haven instances do. But, as with Haven, players would be able to visit different instances, allowing anyone to check out anyone else's sweet pad (within reason - I reckon you should be able to lock your door if you want to). Maybe have different layouts or even aesthetic themes to different instances, to help differentiate the neighbourhoods; not necessary (and quite probably more work for the devs than it'd be worth overall), but a neat way to lend a sense of variety to proceedings, rather than having dozens of cookie-cutter settlements.

Snarky Answer: There's clearly some demand for player houses, but if we wanted to play Habbo Hotel we would've said so.
