I was thinking that difficulty settings would be a good way to give the less-skilled and less-geared players a break and the more-skilled players a greater challenge.

There should be an Easy, Normal (default Tier difficulty), and a Hard mode, which could have varying factors between them, like damage dealt, received, increased numbers of mobs with more advanced attacks and AI, crowns/heat earned, frequency of higher-valued materials, frequency of getting tokens from chests (and how many you could get from a boss), etc.

Thoughts?

I usually solo Vanaduke, so no, I'd actually prefer being able to select Hard mode in Tier 3, to up the difficulty even further.

Huh?

Don't you realize that while you "want" to play on harder tier 3 others will make it a game for 5 year olds.

Antistone and Quizzical are

Antistone and Quizzical are right - we already have different difficulty levels. They're called Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.

I frequently see veteran players taking runs at Snarby in deliberately crippled loadouts, because they enjoy the fight or are after Fangs, but still want it to be a challenge. If Vanaduke's getting like that for you, follow their example. If you want more of a challenge on Vana, load up with 4* Shadow damage weapons, maybe Elemental defense, and prepare to fall down a lot.
