pip = health point/health unit.
Is there a 1 pip rule or is there no 1 pip rule? Because yesterday it always worked, today it didn't work.
I'd like to be certain: is it or is it not?
The 1 pip rule: when you receive damage enough to kill you, you are left with 1 pip instead of being killed (even if typically you get 6+ pips damage and you had 2 pips health, you're still left with 0.5-1 pip health, 90% of time its 1 pip).
This happened many times yesterday. I was left with 1 pip after receiving a blow that was supposed to be fatal. Today I was killed many times in a row while having 4+ pips of health (sometimes 6). Straight to zero.
So I'll repeat my question:
Which one is correct behavior? Possible answers:
a) being left with 1 pip of health, no matter the damage, when you have more than 1 pip of health.
b) receiving full damage - if it kills you, it kills you. No matter how much health you had.
I think variant a) being left with 1 pip of health is the correct behavior. Because thats the only way I can enjoy the game, not having to worry if I have 6+ pips so I don't die suddenly with 1 hit.
If you know the correct variant, please tell me (since I've seen them BOTH at work).
I think, at the very least, you can't die in the next hit following grabbing a heart or using a health capsule. The mechanics may be more subtle than this though.
I just went through a few T3 levels in some highly inappropriate gear ("hey, why not heat up some new equipment in T3", I thought, "what could possibly go wrong") and a number of times I was able to exploit this by running over hearts one at a time between hits. I'd have maybe 1.5 pips of health after grabbing the heart, get bit by a wolver causing an explosion of pips to shower everywhere around me, but would still be left alive with half a pip.
Manged to make it to basil without any revives, and that's without getting a vitapod until D21. Now I just need to wait for a non-fire-theme level to rotate in so my seraphic helm doesn't spontaneously combust...
