That last patch created loads of bugs.
Maybe there is a bug with random violet coloring? I was once in a game that was green vs. violet but somebody on the green team had a violet colored equipment pack (I think they started as recon). Apparently once the game started and they switched to a different class it changed them back to green though. A similar thing happens with costumes where sometimes people start showing costumes but go back to normal upon class change.
