I think we should have some perks and basic abilities. I'm going to start off with some abilities.

Abilities:
- Sprint (You are able to move faster for a limited time.)
- Dodge Roll (You can roll in any direction to avoid enemy attacks.)
- Counter (If you attack at the right time, you'll use a special counterattack that deals more damage and stuns your enemy. Enemies can counter. Bosses cannot counter or be countered.)
- Shield Bash (Your shield can be used to damage and knock back enemies.)
- First Aid (Once every depth, your knight can heal 2 Hearts.)

Now for some perks. Perks are basically small buffs to help you out in the battlefield. When you start off, you only have a few perks you can use, and you can only equip one at a time. A knight is able to equip up to 2 perks when he or she reaches Tier 2 clearance, and 3 perks when reaching Tier 3 clearance. More perks are available as you progress. But be warned, as the best perks always come with a price. Some perks can only be bought, and others are very rare or require difficult tasks to complete.

Perks:
- Trigger Happy (Low ASI Bonus on Guns.)
- Mad Bomber (Low CTR and Damage Bonus on Bombs. Reduces Damage.)
- Artful Dodger (Medium Movement Speed and ASI Bonus. Reduces Damage.)
- Sturdy (Shield Defense Bonus.)
- Steadfast (Shield Health Bonus.)
- Mad Dasher (High Movement Speed bonus. Reduces Health.)
- Athletic (Medium Movement Speed Bonus.)
- Rage (High Damage Bonus. Reduces Defense and Speed.)
- Slayer (Medium Damage Bonus. Reduces Defense.)
- Endurance (+3 Health Bonus.)
- Psychic Reflexes (Low ASI Bonus.)
- Focus (Low CTR Bonus. Reduces Attack Speed.)
- Berserker (Very High Damage and +5 Health. Reduces Defense, Resistance, Attack Speed and Movement Speed.)
- Tanker (Defense bonus, Resistance Bonus, Shield Defense Bonus and +5 health. Reduces Attack Speed, Movement Speed and Damage.
- Speed Demon (High Speed Bonus. Reduces Defense and Damage.)
- Scavenger (You find more materials than usual.)
- Lucky (You're able to find Tokens and Items easier.)
- Greedy (You gain more crowns than usual.)
- Efficient (Elevators cost 7 Energy.)
- Heat Magnet (You gain more heat than usual.)
- Miner (You gain more minerals than usual.)
- Steampunk (Mist Energy recharges faster.)

Tell me what you think.

Your Perks idea is basically

Your Perks idea is basically expanding trinkets options. It could work that way.

Well

The way I see it, perks would be completely balanced since the good ones have drawbacks, and you can only get the best ones after T3 clearance which is hard to get if you're F2P.

But you get the point, right?

First, throw out the last

First, throw out the last quarter of that list.... Heat and Energy mods definitely go against the whole system, so thats a no-go. The entire ability list doesn't fit into the overall playstyle either...

Second, we have a ton of options available that can effectively boost a stat beyond max allowed, so I would suggest attaching a negative attribute to every perk and letting the trinkets either counter or expand them. With Trinkets having a CE cost, the trade off in the "perks" would make it more acceptable as a free attribute.

Third, don't let players stack more then one of these.... thats just getting out of hand.

Well OOO has been going down

Well OOO has been going down the same route as Activision, so while we're at it we could give the Spiral Knights name a subtitle.

I'm thinking...

"------------Spiral Knights--------------
Spiral Duty: Clockwork Warfare"

In all seriousness though, I don't see how this could be a bad idea OR a good idea. It's one of those things that doesn't seem like it'd fit in a game like this really.
