My Ash Tail Coat is close to Level 10, and I would like to upgrade it to something better. I have two I want, and they're the Snarbolax Coat and the Skolver Coat. I am aware that the Snarbolax Coat is hard to obtain, but has pretty good bonuses. The Skolver Coat is more easy to obtain, but has less... desirable bonuses. So, I would like to know which one is best.

Snarbalox and Skolver have
Snarbalox and Skolver have two different defense types. Their bonuses are the same (med sword attack dmg increase). Do you want shadow def, or pierce def? Answer that question and you'll have an answer.

PvE or Lockdown?
Well, a better question is that do your want the set for PvE or Lockdown? The Skolver Coat will prevent you from being frozen because of its Max Freeze Resistance. The Snarbolax Coat only has a High Freeze Resistance, so it isn't guaranteed to protect you from Shivermists. If you play Lockdown mostly I would suggest the Skolver, otherwise take the Snarbolax.

Wrong is wrong.
Your wrong Tornone. 1 piece of Skolver won't let you go through Shivermist Busters. Neither will one piece of Snarby armor.
However, 1 piece of Skolver + 1 piece of Snarby armor lets you walk. Let me put it like this..
Skolver: Max freeze resist.
Snarbolax: High freeze resist.
For Shivermist busters it takes Max + High at the least to go through Shivers. Atm, one 5* freeze trinket is worth 1 High UV.
So Skolver + One 5* freeze trinket= Immune
Snarbolax + One 5* freeze trinket= Still need another high.
On topic, (xD) I need to know what your other piece of armor is to sufficiently answer your question.

My failure to read.
Sorry Ranger! I thought he meant between Snarby set or Skolver set, not just the coat alone. Thanks for clarifying and it was my bad for not reading the topic title. XD
it really depends on what you want the snarbolax coat has shadow defense and 2 status resistances(and you don't have to buy the recipe!) but the resistances are slighty less than skolver but both have ice resistance here are the links to the pages on the wiki.
