Next thing I know, I ended up as though I finished the run with the other players in my party:

In-between that Spiral Knights decided to close (first-time for everything, I pressed Alt+Tab to open Task Manager to see what was up and that's when it staggered then crashed) so I re-launched and was sent straight to the Core. I got the tokens from the fight thanks to the other guys finishing off Vana with me as extra luggage.
My internet connection was fine through all of this but it lag was apparently (not just for me) throughout the run.
Guess I won't be doing FSC again any time soon...
Wow you went straight into the core O_O yeah its still locked so its dark out there. JK.
My guess is your game simply crashed, which has same effect as being disconnected. You were still there (officially, till you reconnect or a specified amount of time passes and you're kicked), and when you restarted the game, you resumed from where your dead/DCed knight was standing (the core, since DCed knight = dead knight, you still get crowns, tokens, heat, and if your team reaches elevator, you go up - unless its terminal/town/core elevator which always goes down).
