I don't know if anyone offered this idea up before so I'll just say it.
Some new ideas for a bomb's attack styles. Instead of just blowing up they can do something different.
Offensive bombs:
The Spiral Stream:
A bomb-once planted-will release a short stream of mist/electricity/fire (corresponding to it's element). The stream will then rotate around the bomb for an amount of time. The bomb will then vanish afterwards.
The length, duration. and number of streams released will increase as it upgrades.
The Dart Storm:
A bomb-once planted- will shoot out several colorful arrows (or darts) at random directions but not consecutively.
This bomb also has a slight chance to cause moderate Stun.
The radius and duration of the darts will increase as it upgrades.
Defensive bombs:
The Guardian's Orb:
A bomb-once planted- will surround the knight inside a think, medium-sized bubble which will protect from attacks. Enemies who try to cross the bubble will have their speed reduced x5 while the knight inside the bubble can cross easily.
But the charge time for the bomb is hideously long.
The speed reduction will increase and the bomb will start dealing measly damage as the bomb upgrades.
The Rapid Current:
A bomb-once planted- will surround the knight in a medium-sized current of water which will push all ground enemies back with a great force. The knight can cross the current easily.
The charge time reduction of the bomb will increase slightly and will start dealing measly damage as it upgrades.
Opinions on these bombs?
Spiral Stream: No.
We already have the existing mist bombs; they're omnidirectional, they do their work, and it would be far more effective than a spinny one.
Dart Storm: No.
See also: Shard Bombs.
Guardian's Orb: I won't mind this, actually. Or even better, slow all projectiles within the bubble too.
And no damage. Please.
Rapid Current: No.
We already have things like the Nitronome with amazing push ability, short charge time and damage. Wow.
