Thread title: Mercurial Demo Set Movement Speed Painted in Purple ("bad") in "Tab" overlay.

Steps to reproduce this bug: equip mercurial demo set, press tab, notice the "bonus" with a downward arrow painted in purple.

Expected result: a BLUE indicator with an UPWARD arrow for the bonus. It is a bonus after all, isn't it?!

Also, as a sidenote I would strongly ask you to reconsider rebalancing the set. The movement speed is unnoticeable (like, COMPLETELY unnoticeable). I can only hope there's some glitch/bug in the calculations and it's actually been applied as a penalty or zero until now or something... As a special "shadow lair" set, it would be nice to actually have a NOTICEABLE increase in speed (1 square for every 5 squares lead on normal speed) - perhaps make it both "medium?" I want people to drool as I zip past them in haven 1.

I know, I know... wishful thinking. Well, at least fix the GUI I guess :/

Also, I ran 5 laps around

Also, I ran 5 laps around haven (up and down the stairs and around the bottom of fountain) after a friend with NO GAIN on him at all - we were at the exact same distance as when we started. I had mercurial demo set on, he had normal set on (no penalties or w/e).

I really really hope this is completely broken, and I'd appreciate if this is looked into. A noticeable increase in movement speed (as they seem to INDICATE) would make these sets (quicksilver / mercurial demo) CONSIDERABLY more attractive.

This in my opinion, if

This in my opinion, if actually true (the speed bonus not being applied correctly or at all), is a considerable bug which requires immediate attention...

I would also check the speed (and asi) penalty effects of the plate armors - it also doesn't really seem to do much at all...

Can someone official please look into this? I'm really interested in whether it's actually broken.

The speed may make you

The speed may make you 0.00001% faster but it is there. You have to run straight on a long line to start noticing effects.

The negative speed is way more obvious, i always end up behind the party when equipping ancient plate.

The AS decrease definitely

The AS decrease definitely works on plate armors

Interesting

I'm not sure what other forms of testing you've done, buy you may wish to consider testing movement speed in the Advanced Training Hall. I get the feeling that any armor ability is negated while in Haven/Arcade/Guild Hall/Non-Combat Zone. If you need a "control" test, I will supply my time. I've always been curious about how much 'extra' speed one gets from the speed-buff armors.

Hm. Good point. I'll try it

Hm. Good point.

I'll try it in advanced training, I never thought it might be inactive in haven >.<

Edit: It does work in advanced training, so I guess it's only the hud that's bad.

I really wish the speed bonus would be double what it is right now, and the penalty for ancient armor too... it's just too unnoticeable of a bonus/penalty imo. Maybe make it mid for both pieces on plate armors and merc demo?

Agreed!

[Quasi-Plug here] I created a topic in the suggestions forum about "balance". I suggest bringing this up there and perhaps providing "numbers," if at all possible. I've only heard rumors/complaints about the speed boost being negligible/nonexistent, so if you can provide times and a method, that'd be awesome! If not, perhaps someone else can provide the necessary data.

Also, it may just be that your speed is boosted while you're experiencing speed-debilitating effects, such as Stun or Charging a bomb/sword. This is also worth testing, in my opinion, and if I had the proper armor, I'd gladly do it. Good luck!
