SO.. as we all know, the Barbarous Thorn Blade is a pretty darn good weapon. BUT it's not as good as the DARK Thorn Blade. Why, you ask?

(Don't dismiss this on the basis of weapon level or number of barbs hitting Vanaduke)

With a max damage bonus......

Level 5 Barbarous Thorn Blade (Vanaduke Poisoned):

Strike: 452, spiky barbs: 107 each, looks like it hit 4 times (a couple may have disappeared)

Level 10 Dark Thorn Blade (Vanaduke poisoned):

Strike: 500, spiky barbs: 237 each, hit 6 times

Now, I seriously doubt that levelling the Barbarous Thorn Blade another 5 levels will give a jump in damage of another 130 points.

I will update this thread with more info as I level my Barbarous Thorn Blade back to 10.. However, I remember in the past that I was doing maybe 125-150 per spiky barb when it was level 10.

Yeah, we know. It's been

Yeah, we know. It's been discussed a couple of times, and everyone can check the wiki damage tables to verify.
Some say it's weaker due to the hologram of snarbolax, but Honestly i don't understand why, since avenger-->divine avenger triplicates the power. Similar for brandishes explosions increase, etc.

hrm...

Makes a bit more sense for the Divine/Avenger series since it'd be ridiculously damaging for 3 projectiles..
However, from what it looks like, the DTB and BTB have the same number of spikes so why give it a significantly lower damage?

Wonder if any GM's want to de-alchemize my BTB for me and refund me the crafting cost.....
