I have recently unlocked both trinket slots, and ever since I almost couldn't get into Lockdown. There would always be a single message repeating itself for unbearable time saying "Your Lockdown game has been delayed. Waiting for more players...". The message would repeat pretty much until I'd lose my patience.
Long story short, fix the player assignment in Lockdown. ASAP.

It seems that you think the problem comes from population, but it doesn't. New lockdown games start, the number of players currently playing is always above 30, and I'm not in. This NEEDS to be fixed.

The 30 players you see are fighting against each other probably with full teams "Your Lockdown game has been delayed. Waiting for more players..."
Since you alone dont make a new team, The game as to find other players to group you with them, or you have to wait until one of those 30 guys playing leaves so the agme fills in the empty spot.
Patience, a new match cant just start automagically.

They can be in other tiers and people that click play again always get priority.

Again, not a population problem.
Aside from over 30 players already playing there are always over 18 players waiting, beside me.

People on the EU server cannot play people on the US server
LD has been pretty slow lately especially since people on the EU servers cannot play people on the US server
