Lockdown Scoreboard: Class Icons & Assist Points

I'd like to see Death Marked enemies give partial credit to Recons who inflicted the mark. Either:

Recon receives credit for half the damage inflicted
(yes, this means the teammate actually dealing the damage only gets half,
but then they would be doing less damage without the mark in the first place)

OR

Recon receives some sort of new 'Assist points', roughly equal to half the damage inflicted on a Marked Target.

---------------------------------------------

If Assist points are added, Guardians could receive Assist points for damage blocked on behalf of teammates, and/or damage healed on teammates.

---------------------------------------------

Lastly, I'd also like a class icon attached to each player on the scoreboard. For teammates, you can look to the side sure but that still doesn't tell you what class your enemy was playing. It would be a simple cosmetic to add and help everyone understand each other's contribution to the match.

Interesting

The first suggestion is interesting. However, and since you can change class and loadouts at any point during the match, the last suggestion isn't really viable. What if I was a striker for 90% of the match and then changed into a recon? wouldn't the scoreboard be misleading if it showed a recon symbol on me?
Or, I was a recon-bomber for half the match and kept by myself a control point for that duration, then changed into a striker and got killed often before doing anything useful. How that would be represented?

What I would like to see is time on a cp measurement or something like that to show, you know, that someone was sitting on a control point and didn't let the opponents touch it for so long (something that doesn't show up in the current caps/defends counter)

I really don't see the ability to change classes mid-game as a reason not to include basic information on the scoreboard.
Sure, you could try deceiving your opponents but most players will know what you were really playing.

As for sitting on CP credit, yeah I also had that thought but had forgotten.
I was thinking every X amount of seconds, you get a Defense credit. (Once every 30, maybe?)

The defense timer could be cumulative, so you could defend 15 seconds here and 15 seconds there and get 1 Defense credit.
I know people may worry this rewards players players for doing nothing but it's not like Defend credits actually score points,
it's captures that do.

Why have a class icon, then?

I don't think any of that will really help (although I completely agree with the sentiment, don't get me wrong) because as things are, there's a lot of uncredited players and trying to credit more will simply lead to even more people wanting credit. As things are, none of the support players get much credit, and they're okay with it, but start giving half the support players, and the unquantifiable support will start feeling even more rejected.

You can't quantify "didn't let anyone near [x] control point the entire match" or "pushed groups at a time with area control" or "locked enemies down for half the match".

Why?

Damage gives no bonuses except bragging rights. Why is it necessary for that part. Recons that know their stuff can decide the outcome of a match, so at least give them something other than damage. I also have a problem with the Guardian Assist point thing. People with absolutely no skill could become Guardian and constantly hold up shield near teammates and earn bragging rights even though what they did took no effort at all.

Credit where credit is due

Reconners do know that they can contribute a lot to a match... but still it's more fun to see yourself have that credit than watch strikers and defenders soak up a bunch of the bragging rights. (Striker A did XXXXX damage while Recon A did XXXX damage is very, very annoying to see when that 'con either captured and maintained more CPs or was responsible for assisting or even dealing killing blows to quite a few players)
A lot of LD involves multiple issues that these finer cosmetics probably shouldn't be the focus at the moment... but yes, I think it would be a great morale boost to the Recon class if they could get some type of visible credit for what they do.
