Max curse protection is just not enough?

I noticed a weird thing:
With max + med curse protection only one of my weapons gets cursed (+ 2 vials). With just max curse protection 2 weapons get cursed (sure, time goes down from 40 seconds to 32 seconds or so, but its still 2 curses).

I believe its a bug and it was supposed to be:
no curse resist: 2 weapons cursed (and 3 vials)
1x max curse resist: 1 weapon cursed (and 2 vials)
2x max curse resist: 0 weapons cursed (and 1 vial)

As it is I believe curse max is nearly useless - you need max + med (low?) to benefit from the effect. Most items don't have curse resist so one max UV is pointless - you still get 2 weapons cursed. Time reduction is nice but it doesn't really help.
Starting with the moment ASI/CTR/Damage trinkets were introduced having curse resist trinkets stopped being an option.

Please let me know if its not a bug, I'll move the topic into suggestions forum.

Oh man, I got a max curse wolver cap just for this purpose. I hope it gets fixed (or changed, if this is a feature. . .).

Do you know what happens with double max curse right now? Does it successfully reduce vials cursed to 1? Not that that's a big deal.

At 4 points (equal to a max UV, or one piece of most 5* armors), the number of weapons cursed becomes 1.

My equipment piece is Heavenly Iron Helm, which does not work as stated in the wiki.
Needs more testing.

which is why, like you, I'm surprised and dismayed to learn of this. There goes my original plan. This really needs to be fixed/changed; Curse resistance was already underpowered!

I made some tests: With

I made some tests:
With one "MAX" UV or one 5* item with a good curse resistance (divine/valkyrie/heavenly iron all have same curse resistance, same level as a "MAXIMUM" UV) you get 2 weapons cursed, as well as 2 (!) vials. If you add a small curse protection on top of it (I added 4-star curse resist trinket), you will get only 1 weapon cursed.
Wiki says that max+low effect should be reached with a single "max" UV.
I'll still try to get divine set to test how it works with and without curse trinket.

I believe its a bug - "MAXIMUM" curse resistance is currently slightly weaker than its supposed to be.

Huh.

So e.g. Divine Veil with a Curse Low will suffice to achieve the effect? Still sucks (and should be changed back), but I guess that's workable.

Divine veil with low curse could work, I'll test it when I get 5 grim sparks. But curse-resistant armor of highest level shouldn't require curse resistant UV on top of it to make it work in the first place.
I believe curse resist levels got broken at some point, with either "maximum" suddenly becoming less than "4 points" worth (as it should be, according to wiki), or curse resistance requirements becoming higher by mistake.

Ok I did some tests and

Ok I did some tests and here's results (curse time was not subject of the test, was not recorded):
no curse resistance - 2 weapons, 3 trinkets cursed
1 "low" curse resistance (4* curse resist trinket) - 3 vials, 2 weapons cursed, no effect (as opposed to wiki's 2 vials cursed instead of 3 vials cursed)
2 "low" curse resistance ("med"? 2x 4* curse resist trinket) - 2 vials, 2 weapons
1 "max" curse resistance (divine mante or heavenly iron helm) - 2 vials, 2 weapons (as opposed to wiki's 1 weapon 2 vials cursed)
1 "max" + 1 or 2 "low" curse resistance (divine mantel or heavenly iron helm + 4* curse resist trinket, same as 2x 4* trinkets) - 1 weapon 2 vials cursed, according to wiki 1 max should give this effect even without extra "low"s.
2 "max" curse resistance (divine mante + heavenly iron helm, "curse" bar is full) - 1 weapon, 1 vial cursed, same as wiki.

Single "Max" curse resist, given from 5* items, is bugged. It is supposed to make only 1 weapon cursed, but it still makes 2 weapons cursed. Adding an extra "low" curse resistance makes only 1 weapon cursed.
Single "low" curse resist, given from a 4* curse resist trinket, is bugged. It has no effect, while its supposed to limit amount of vials cursed to 2.

Took me a while to make a divine mante for this test :P

Hmm

Those results were added by a user based on his own tests, rather than being some form of official documentation. They were definitely accurate back then. Curse must have changed at some point along the way without the wiki following suit.

If wiki was correct and then it went incorrect without any official patch stating "this parameter has been updated", it means that a bug found its way into the game at some point and took over the "curse resistance" level requirements.

Curse resist is bad enough as it is. We really don't need this (apparent) bug making it even worse. Seriously, I need more than Max Curse just to use my Faust charge effectively? This is not satisfactory.

My divine veil with no UVs will curse both weapons if i use the gran faust charge attack, when it is supposed to curse only 1.

No, this bug still isn't fixed. A 5* divine veil should give max curse resist (5 points), it only gives 4.
