This may be a bug, but it deffinately needs to be changed so I say suggestions. I rolled on a boltbrand and got a beast medium. Yes I was mad, but im used to unbelievable uvs from him. What im not used to is rolling on the same weapon IMEDIATELY afterwards and getting the SAME uv only one point LOWER (beast low)!!! Seriously, I was less mad when i crafted a silversix with the wrong antigua (gremlin high) -_- Come on whoever put Punch in the game, he is unreasonable enough, but this... this is rediculous!

Random *is* random. If Beast Medium cannot occur again, it's not really random.

My advice is if you are bothered by the crown cost, don't use Punch.

When rolling on my Snarby

When rolling on my Snarby cap, I went from Poison: High, to Poison: Low. I also alternated between Poison: Low and Freeze: Low for about 5-6 straight rolls. Similar thing happened with my DA: Beast High->Med->Low consecutively.

It's all about luck, at some point it'll turn around. This morning I crafted my first Maximum UV, and I'm accepting it as redemption for all the crappy rolls and lack of luck I've had when ragecrafting since I began playing many months ago :P

Also, a bit of advice, don't roll for UVs on anything under 5*. There's still potential for getting a UV when crafting from 4* to 5*. I only mention this since you claim to have rolled on a Silversix, and you never know what you might get when upgrading ;)

EDIT: I derped, you didn't roll the Silversix, you rolled the Boltbrand, so the advice still stands :3

@Mongrol: "Ok, i know its random, but i thought you cant get the same uv family thats already on the weapon?"

Uh...what would make you think that? Does Punch say that? Does the wiki say that? Have any of the developers ever said that?

If you pay for a new UV on your shivermist with CTR: low, would you really want CTR: very high to be eliminated as a possible option just because it's from the same family?

Or if you have a single good UV and you buy a 3-UV ticket, do you want that good UV to be excluded from the possible results?

I think it's working exactly the way a reasonable person would expect it to work. And I don't think the risk of a consecutive repeat significantly affects the cost of looking for a good UV, and depending on what you're looking for it may not increase it at all.

If you think this pushes it over the line into "not worth it", that's your call. But if I were going to make Punch better, I would do it by reducing the cost or tweaking the ratios, not by doing what you suggest.

Random is random. You have

Random is random. You have the exact same odds of getting a given UV each roll. The type of UV (ex: vs Fiend, ASI, etc.) gained on a Sword/Gun is approximately 1:8, or 12.5% for each one. You got unlucky, that is all. I see no reason OOO will change Punch when he is working as intended.
