A way not to roll UVs with Punch

Guess what guys? I did the Punch thing with the one variant tickets. I got a damage bonus vs gremlin low on my Divine Avenger, and a damage bonus vs beast low on my Plague Needle. I blew 40k of my hard earned cr just for that stuff, and only 20k I would consider as well spent. Why the heck do we need to roll UV's with Punch? It's absolutely stupid. My idea is this: make Punch give DEFINITE UVs instead of this dumb rolling business. Why do we have to gamble anyways in this game. Here's my idea:

1) You need to buy UV slots from Punch. Same price as the prices he charges for random UVs. The more slots, the more it costs.
2) You blow energy in it. Damage bonuses, attack speed increases, armor increases, charge time reductions all start at a low 10 ce. These UVs start at Low only.
3) These UV's are upgradable, so you're UV's can be increased, but the ce cost will gradually increase along with it, starting from 50 ce, then 200 ce, then 400 ce, and finally 800ce.
4) Can be upgraded until Maximum! Maximum costs 800ce.
5) Costs materials. For example, a Shadow resist increased UV will require dark shards, Forbidden Fruits, Phials of Phear, etc. Depending on the UV you want, you need to provide these specific materials.

I really dislike this rolling business. +1 if you agree. The only reason people won't want to +1 this is because they got lucky with Punch on their first few tries.

Actually...

I kind of don't want to +1 this because I think the randomness is fun. I haven't actually used Punch, but whenever I get UVs just by crafting, they aren't even close to being useful every time. Upon crafting my Shivermist, I got DB Slime low. I might change it sometime in the future, and I'll do it randomly via Punch.

You said to +1 if I agreed with you in disliking "this rolling business", and I don't, so I'm not going to.

That said, I DO think that your idea has some merit. I must say that after crafting something up to 5* it's kind of boring not to be able to modify it further besides through random UVs. Again, I'm not saying that the randomness is bad, but being able to have a choice using CE and materials is a cool idea.

Precisely

I really don't mind if they keep the rolling business. I just wish that they would put this as another option.

Mehh..

I really don't like the idea of a crown sink substitute; and Punch is a pretty large one. Replacing it with a CE sink is just double-bad imo.

The rolling is what makes the crown sink effective. Just be glad it was reduced to 20K for a single-variant ticket. ;P

On the other hand...

...I realized that people who pay for the game (or just grind a lot) would basically be granted rights to better equipment. I think as-is, the forced randomness is probably a matter of fairness - random can't be fair or unfair to either party. While your idea would be cool, I sort of doubt whether this would actually be implemented because of the balance issue. Additionally, the current randomness makes Punch a crown sink, and the game needs that. I guess people who pay for the game (or just grind a lot) can still get really good UVs as-is, but they'll spend a lot more on them than your option, which makes for a healthier economy.

EDIT: Jeez, Sev. Every time. Wait a few more minutes for me, will ya? XD

Weren't the Single-Variant Tickets 7500Cr, then 20kCr?

@Ironskullkid:

7,500?! If I recall correctly, they were 75,000; 150,000; and 325,000 (Or maybe it was 300,000), respectively. I remember them being decreased by a large margin because the chances to get the better UVs were as they are now.

@Schattentag: Heh...I wish I had a "SCHATTENTAG IS TYPING" indicator, but unfortunately, I don't. ;)

I dunno. It was a long time ago when they First Releases Punch & Vise. I tried looking at the Release Notes, but they didn't show the Price Listings. Maybe we can have Nick look through the Records & Reply?

We'd have to move the thread to General Discussion to get a response from Nick.

lol. I'm fairly sure it was adjusted to be cheaper though....fairly.

@Juances: Thanks for that! I knew 3-variants were greatly reduced! Turns out single-variants were increased after all.

Thanks for the input!

This is just an idea. Still, it won't be bad if it were implemented. I don't know if more people would be coerced to buy more ce by the implementation of this idea, but it is worth the shot. I really hate relying on chance in this game. This game is obviously oriented to people who sink lots of money in it. Don't even bring up balance, because in this game it's non-existent.

Hey, I personally fully

Hey, I personally fully support this as is with no bias whatsoever coming from my plate shield with low curse and shadow resist, no, not affected by that at all.
