Is the whole "Flourish/Snarble Barb Line having the Range of a Heavy Sword & Shield Canceling Speed of the Flash" a Bug?

It's just been Bugging me ever since I've been using my Twisted Snarble Barb.

I've been Switching Between Combuster, TSB, & Warmaster Hammer in a Certain Farmable Mission, & every time I use it, I keep thinking I'm using the Warhammer, because I keep Detonating Explosives from a Crazy Range, but at the Speed of my Combuster.

It seems to Throw me off every time.

Any reason why a Small Toothpick can reach the Range of a Freakin' Warhammer/Greatsword?

EDIT: Oh, & before I forget.

This is not a "OMG RNGE IZ 2 FAR!!!11!!!1NRF IT!!1!11!!" This is a Discussion on why it has such Range.

I feel its b/c its an attempt

I feel its b/c its an attempt to be a rapier. Typically it is the tip that should be feared of a rapier. But this is only relating it with reality.

May have same range, but lacks the knockback of heavy swords.

The large hitbox of the first

The large hitbox of the first swing is to make up for the tiny hit boxes of the 2nd & 3rd swings.

And the flourish swings faster than your combuster, just FYI.

Also, there is a bit of knockback from the first swing. It's not as great as the slower swords, but it is enough to get most monsters in mid-attack to move just far enough away from you to remain unscathed.
