Hey I'm Nick. I do concept art in many forums. I'm an art physics student so a lot of my work has started as hand drawn work. If you would like your suggestion for a weapon or something on the suggestion forums designed as a 3D model or drawn out, I can do it for you for a certain price (in ce) we can discuss over complexity. I will also do 2d concept art and fan art if you want, but I don't have many samples of that onine for a few reasons, but I will link some art I've done to show you that the skill is there.

(I draw comics so If you would like a comic drawn I can do that too. Its an older style of comics familiar to Calvin and Hobbes if you read that, which is my favorite ;D, I will add more later, this was a fast draw obviously)

Most of these were done as a personal thing or just randomly for other people for free. If commissioned you can expect hire quality then the sketch of course and the photoshop concept. I will link more samples later.

So, first of all, I'm guessing that you are jumping on the bandwagon of art for CE. No offense, but that's kinda sad that you will now be stealing business from people who were here first.

Ehh, your first criticism is a little unfair. That's like saying that anyone becoming an artist IRL is trying to steal business from others who started first.

If people prefer the OP's art, or his prices, more power to him. I doubt any of the other art-for-CE crew will fault him for that.

While we're on the topic of typos, though: "concept artisit"? :P

All I have seen was Kentards Art Commission thread start up, then within a week two others are started. I have been talking with Kentard, and he is a great guy, so seeing people stealing his idea rubs me the wrong way.

Meh.

I'm sure he's great and all, but "take art commissions for CE" is about as unique an idea as "take art commissions for money". It's the sort of idea people are, and should be, free to "steal". If people like their art, the threads will succeed; if not, they'll fail.

I don't see how it's really any different from "buy stuff off the AH cheap and flip it for a profit on the forum". Anyone can try, but not everyone can make it work. With regard to "art", a certain "Doom-Dude" comes to mind. (His thread predates Kentard's, FWIW. . . .)

It's all fair game, really. I'm pretty fine with him taking a few customers; again it's all about preference, if you like Nixk's style better I have no qualms about turning to him instead of me.

kentard is by no means the originator of this idea. There have been these threads stretching back to when i started playing the game. Doing commissioned artwork is not an idea that can be trademarked, patented or stolen. I like that you are sticking up for a good guy, but ultimately your feelings are misplaced, imo.
In no way am I suggesting that my thread is original, and granted that there have been pre-existing threads for art commissions lying around, it's unfair to pass such a judgement on poor Nixk. It's just good business.

@Nixk: Your works look pretty great; I saw the sketch of your brother, and it was pretty impressive! I wish you all the best for this thread.
Just a suggestion though, if you are doing weapons try studying real weapons and extrapolating from there with your gun designs. I noticed that the Judgement's hammer is a little out of place, and the grip seems missing to me; just for reference, here's a standard pistol image.
Of course, I can't dispute it if it's a stylistic adaptation, but anything goes really.

Nonetheless, you have potential; that I cannot deny. All the best, lad.
