lag then not responding
Same here. Most of the times when I start SK it starts with a really bad lag, but then as I play along it get better until there is no lag. Then all of a sudden the lag comes back and get really bad. Then it just says not responding and is really annyoing.
SK need to fix this and what is JavaTM cause this may be the problem.

So its all the latest patch's doing?
My game crashes once per hour. Every 1 second of lag brings me 1 step closer to death by unwillingly landing on a random trap.
Maybe something is accumulating behind all the Java and causing it to overload??

Ive tried running spiral knights in fix mode so i can check problems with coding, and it seems in the first line of code (first read on starting up of game), there is not one infinity loop, but 4 infinity loops (according to my fixer), and these will retry connection and the last action u did every 15 seconds. Just gonna wait until new update then run fixer again to see the changes."

The Frame Rate Issue
I was playing Spiral Knights about an hour ago and had entered the Shadow forest to fight one of the bosses for a rank quest. From what i could tell about the information that was given to me this boss seemed like he was going to be pretty difficult. I walked into the area and the doors closed and the boss fight began. I found out the bosses weakness rather quickly but after about 15 seconds of sparring with the boss my game froze. After about 60 seconds of the game being frozen it did what i call a rapid reload (where you see everything that happened in that amount of time flash by within seconds). During that time i witnessed my knight die and revive a total of about seven times. When this happened all of my CRYSTAL ENERGY that i paid for was gone. This totaled up to over 1,000 energy that i had in my account taken from me in just a matter of milliseconds and i had no way of stopping this or rectifying the situation. I have sent in several bug reports about this issue. I would like for in some way shape or form to be compensated for this ridiculous glitch that cost me actual money in crystal energy that i bought. If this situation doesn't get rectified then I will be forced to stop playing this for fear that the issues will continue, and i game i used to spend hours playing and enjoying will become nothing more than a waste of time and an immense amount of frustration.
I'm seeing the exact same behavior. I've never had any issue running SK until now, but after today's patch, I feel like I'm just playing a slideshow.
