Guild, Clan, what's the difference? They serve the same purpose and the terms are used interchangeably for the same function in various games. It's an unnecessary barrier to have one work and not the other, when /c doesn't even have a function of its own to justify keeping it separate from /g chat.
/a and /s often both work in games. One is All, the other is Say, they're used for local chat.
Why can't /g and /c be the same way?
Because its not worth the time to type that code in just because some people can't remember its not /c......
All implies it goes across all channels or a specific game wide channel. You don't even need a slash command for say so don't bring it up. You're in a Guild so logically it would be /g if you wanted to talk to your guild. A clan is something completely different. If it's really a huge deal to you and you keep typing out things you shouldn't be in the "say" channel then maybe you should practice more until your muscle memory works for both games or hey, actually remember what game you're playing and use the correct notation accordingly.
Never played an online game where clan was used, never even heard of one.
Regardless, I'm going to side with the "remember what game you're playing" faction. No reason for the game designers to take alzheimers into account when scripting their chat system.

Yet it's worth the time to code /z for shouts, /s for red speech bubble emotes and /t for whispers—not to mention the 9001 other meaningless variants. Unless it is known for certain that /c is planned for Alliance, Group, Couple (whoops, couple starts with c!) or some other new chat mode, I just cannot understand how anyone can think "remember what game you're playing" (or as I read it, "lolololol wats a clan ¯\(°·o)/¯") is a valid counterargument.
Disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing is great guys, but next time try to target an idea that ISN'T perfectly reasonable.
You're in a guild not some clan cult. Get used to it.
