So, after playing around a lot with the new bombs I noticed taking down large mobs took forever; and after looking closely, even though shards were hitting the enemy no damage was being done. You are even able to hear the shards hitting the enemy (creating the plink sound that happens when you attack gremlin or trojan shields). Took some video of the occurrence. It isn't rare that it happens- I can make it happen on command, and it's kind of annoying when a player wants to be doing as much damage as they can and end up doing none....

I think it might have to do with invincibility frames.

I think this bug originates from the description of the bombs given on the test server feedback. If you read the section under "Bomb Behavior", it says that the shards from ONE shard bomb cannot land more than 3 shards on a single enemy, otherwise it nullifies all damage from the bomb done to that enemy. Normally I would say that is the origin of the "tink" noise, but I looked closer at your videos, and there were many instances that the enemy wasn't even struck by more than more than three shards and still trigger the invincibility frames for no apparent reason. I'm actually still a bit stumped; maybe it is a real bug that needs some tweaking.

I personally see no reason why there should be a shard damage limit... Landing more than 3 of those spread out shards is a difficult enough feat as it is, and yet OOO chooses to punish skillful kiting and bomb placement. They claim to put this limit on the bombs to balance clustering shards on large, boss enemies, yet others get totally "legitimate" options to quickly take down boss enemies (FOV for Jelly King and Blitz Needle for Vana. :s)
