has anyone else been forced out of the game due to techn ical server issues or something.

And...
I just got booted.
Coincidentally - my system just downloaded a Steam Client update.
Seems whenever that happens - I'm guaranteed getting punted.
Of course, I also have problems with multiple people playing in the same house, all current gen computers, solid internet connection etc. but all the OOO advice I've been given to date is that the problem is on "my side".
