anyway... just another idear to doodle with.

OOO isn't associated with DC. As much as I'd like them to be, they're not. Too much hassle for the dev's, a possible law suit, and Aquaman (reason enough to cancel this). Too impossible.

I'm certain SEGA has nothing to do with DC either. Unless SEGA could be certain that SK would suddenly become this massive cash cow with it, there's no way they'd pay for the license from DC.

now i didnt know Marvel cancelled with SEGA D: that sorta changes things as plan B.
well, cant Steam be the middleman? both DC Univers and Spiral Knights, both F2P also, have Steam as third party.

Like many things, it may be impossible- but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome. As long as it doesn't stand out an incredible amount.
