Different accounts (no not alts) sharing mist

The first time this happened was when I was at my friend's house, where I crafted a weapon that costed me all my mist. I log out, and my friend logs in to discover all his mist is gone.
This occurs a second time, when I crafted another weapon. I log into another account that isn't an alt, it is a different account that has a different username and password. I discover all the mist on the account is gone. However, when I tried a differnt computer, I discovered that my mist came back, and that it came back to BOTH accounts. I then crafted another weapon on the 1st account with the second account's mist energy.

So my question is, is the mist level saved to a computer, or is this a bug?

You should not admit to

You should not admit to 'stealing' mist from another account :P

Yes, free accounts on same computer will share mist. And yes, you could find some loophole to exploit it and screw your friend.
But refrain from doing so.

What is the difference

What is the difference between a free account and an unfree account?

I don't think...

It probably wouldn't matter if it is a payed or free account.
But if you had multiple knights saved to one account, they share mist until you buy mist with money.

To answer your question, mist

To answer your question, mist is stored to your computer (and your account to some extent) unless you make a purchase. A real money transaction of any item (DLC included) will allow your account to have a separate mist tank.

Let me give you a few scenarios that I will try to explain as best as possible.

A and B are free accounts. C is a paid account.

A uses up some of their mist so they have 60. This means the computer A used has 60 mist available.
If A is to log on to a different computer, their mist will not be 100 but it will be 60.
A has changed the available mist registered on this computer to 60.
If B logs on to either of the computers A has used, their mist will drop to 60.

To sum this all up, the amount of available mist is always the lowest amount of the two variables (mist of last recorded account and mist of the currently logged in account).

If C logs into any computer, they will be able to play without worrying about any of their mist being lost due to sharing.

Hope this helps. :)

Still a little

Still a little confused.

Let's say that Bob, Sally, and James each have an account. Bob also has a second account, Bob2. Each has their own computer. James has 3 knights on his one account, Jim, Jimmy, and Jimbo.

Is Bob were to use Sally's computer, the two would share mist. Correct?
But, if Sally and Bob had "paid", neither would share mist... right?
If James (on a day Bob and Sally do not log on) logs into Jim on Bob's computer, Jimmy on Sally's computer, and Jimbo on his own computer, would they have their own mist tanks?
